Team Cotto Discuss Strategy, Victory Over Pacquiao

BOB ARUM: I think this call will be very enlightening. Miguel Cotto’s trainer, Joe Santiago is here and Miguel’s strength and conditioning Phil Landman is also here. I have been to both camps and I am so gratified to see two athletes getting themselves in peak condition. I want to see, more than anything else, a great fight on November 14. To have a great fight, you have to have two well-conditioned athletes and that’s what we have here. [details]

Good read, it's refreshing to read something with real substance rather than tall tales of sparring sessions and everchanging predictions.

I hope Santiago proves that he can handle the job and help Cotto beat Pac. Miguel is training his ass off getting ready for what for now will be his greatest fight.

That's another thing that Miguel Cotto should have done a long time
ago and that's get a new trainer. Sometimes I think it's Cotto's pride
that be making things difficult for him sometimes. Manny has Roach
in his corner and that's a big +. For this fight Cotto should invested
          a lil time into that.

i could counter that by sayin if got a new trainer right after the clottey fight it wouldnt be enought time together.....

you could have the greatest in your corner at the end of the day is still up to the boxers

i like the fact that they are confident but yet so humble cotto's camp that is

cotto will beat little manny, easily,,,i really won't give cotto much credit for beating someone he's suppose to beat, manny is small after all,i gave him more credit for beating clottey than this fight...i already heard arum say that when margarito comes back, they already talking rematch with cotto, and since cotto always had doubts about tony's win, what better way than to prove he's better? only with a rematch,he was after all talkiing about it a lot,so now would be his chance to prove tony' cant beat him fair and square(according to cotto)

Even when Cotto loses to Pacman, a rematch with Margarito can still make dollars.

You've got to think about it from a Business (Bob Arum) point of view. He's thinking, 'ok when Cotto looses, I still need to find a way to bank off Cotto, hmmm a rematch with Margarito would be the best choice cause their are so many questions in that first fight (Gloves).

Also the PR and Mexican boxing rivalry will bring in good numbers.

                  Business point of view.

This is what I took from that article:
They are having a great Camp with great chemistry
When Cotto was with his uncle the Chemistry was not there and it lead to insecurity and a total different mind set for Miguel.
I think its a very positive thing that the Cotto camp is not having any problems as before and to me its a big deal and I do beleive Cotto is going to come out focused and ready to rock.
I really see Cotto taking it to manny before Roach throws in the towel stopping the fight by round 8.

                    On a side note
Arum is a piece of work. He is parading around how great pac is and already trying to set up a Pac May fight and he even brings up and defends Clottey in the same sentence he was talking about miguel. I know he is a promoter but give Cotto some love man.
