Santiago sounds more of a motivator and not much of a strategist. He is a type of trainer that is grateful to be involved in this mega fight but from what I saw in the clottey fight,miguel was the same miguel. He changed up his defensive stance when he saw clotteys stance by covering body with the forearms.doubt if Santiago showed him that. Miguel is too LOYAL when it comes to his team and he didn't believe that a change is needed at the lead cornerman besides his uncle , cuz that was just personal. If phil really improved his stamina,then attack when PAC likes to lean when he punches , pac will fold when cotto times his shots perfectly. If cotto loses then I think he will change trainers, joe chavez is the cutman and said he will tell all from what he saw when he worked with pac, so thats a big + as well.

ago and that's get a new trainer. Sometimes I think it's Cotto's pride

If i may add, cotto right now at this very day is training on a 24x24 ring.Bigger then the one on fight night.I think this is important for the fact that cotto is one of the well known boxers who utilizes his ring cutting skills sharply.If Pac's strategy is to come in,then out,thats when cotto's hard work needs to kick in.

The very fact that they did not even speak to each other in the gym, only through interlocutors, speaks, no pun intended, to how big of a problem it was. In a way Miguel was training himself during a long stretch starting with when Evangelista got in a heated discussion, almost fight in one of Miguel's brother's fights here in Puerto Rico and Miguel had to intervene in between rounds. Things were bad before but got so much worse afterwards.

Anything but Evangelista is a plus for Miguel.
