He lost all credibility by not fighting Benavidez!

It will be Turki’s darling Hamzah Sheeraz if he gets past Diego Pacheco.

My guess is that Canelo will fight the least dangerous fighter that he can make a fight with. He might as well retire and go play golf. It's time.

Anyone else abandon the Canelo train awhile ago? I'm talking with all the UDs he's scored and facing "filler" opponents like Scull that brought nothing. Lack of excitement in a lot of his past few fights with maybe the exception being Crawford because we were all eager to see how Crawford would perform.

I'm Okay with Canelo retiring any day now. In fact, I would love if Benavidez became the new face of Mexican boxing because he's fun to watch and so far hasn't ducked anyone. Perhaps when he gets Canelo type paychecks, that mentality changes, but for now, he's performing the part that you want to see in a face of boxing type of guy.

IMO it will be the last guy mentioned in the article.

Gets him a title. Should be any easy enough win.

If not, then Mbilli given his fight with Hamza fell through.

I just can't see Benavidez getting to that Canelo level in regards to being the draw and 'face of Mexican boxing'. Canelo came up in a different time, when GBP was able to steer and direct his career as needed. Oscar used his Golden Boy shine and passed it on to Canelo to build his career in such a way. Not writing Canelo wasn't a great fighter, but strictly speaking about marketing and promotion. Remember, by the time Canelo was Benavidez' age he had already fought the second GGG fight. For whatever its worth, Golden Boy did a Fabulous job of steering Canelo's career.

Fat Dave lacks opps with big fanbases

Plus people in Mexico get behind Mexican citizens like SANTOS
