Errol Flynn/boxing Robin Hood coming out to a strong Sheffield song. Feels oddly like Froch-Taylor.

It's difficult to predict how Smith will perform. Not only has he been inactive, but this is his first away fight and world title shot. Although I believe Matias is there for the taking, this will be a trial by fire for Smith. Matias' pressure can induce panic, and if Smith is not mentally prepared, he's going to start feeling overwhelmed pretty quickly and his offense won't flow like he'll need it to.Alright, here we go! I've been high on Smith for some time, and think this should be his coming out party - Smith is a counterpuncher with power whose last ten (or more) opponents haven't tried to step to him despite being at length and speed disadvantages (bar one - Zepeda, who got summarily dealt with). Matias is suspect but still in there, although the announcers describing him as 'the energiser bunny' does leave a bad taste in the mouth...

We've agreed to disagree about Smith before - should be a good fight if both men are at their best.Comment

Matias heats up mid rounds and then he starts getting really sloppy and fades badddd in the late rounds... stumbling footwork, unnecessary shots, no head movement. Smith might be able to Catch him👍 1Comment

Have we? If we did, I don't remember. I believe Matias' punch resistance will eventually crack and maybe Smith will be the one to do it, but he'll need to remain composed. He can't waste any unnecessary energy.
