I think this has been spoke to death but I'm at work so I'll just chime in again. I think that both can exist though need to remain separate. That being social media/celebrity boxing and boxing taken serious as a sport with a ranking system and champions. They should never mix.

What JP has done has caused somewhat a stir up **** show into the authenticity of boxing as a sport. He's making it look like anyone with limited experience can just jump in and get mega million dollar paychecks. This only works when you already have a fan following and pick on has-beens, no hopers and guys that aren't boxers themselves. He's proven that. Then facing boxers in their primes, he takes an L or broken jaw. Not to mention, in facing AJ, he basically skipped a line of real boxers that are ranked and could have had the opportunity to face AJ instead.

JP aside and all that, if you have 2 folks with limited experience in boxing that have "celebrity" behind their names that want to go at, go for it. It kind of reminds me of those videos where two folks wear the over sized boxing gloves that are seriously oversized and they just punch at each other until someone goes down from the sheer size of the glove pushing them. Though when they're wearing legitimate gloves, since they both lack experience, punches thrown are less deadly as they're probably not throwing with proper torque, positioning, etc. In most of these I've watched, there are a lot of arm punches and just sloppy looking punches overall. That's Okay because there is less chance of either side getting hurt badly and they can make their fans happy when someone proves their more alpha than the other, lol.

So yeah, I think both sides can exist but they shouldn't cross over.

It's been great for women's boxing

          Terrible for men's boxing.

well quite a few people said that AJ should not take the jake paul fight as hes much bigger and jake paul is basically a faker who could be in danger in the ring, turns out they were right but AJ also caught some of that danger as well as its quite likely he would not have been in that place at that time if he didnt take the jake paul fight, bit head wrecking but i think its a fair thing to say so AJ got paid but he also paid a price, if u buy into the concept of course

Women's boxing has never been this competitive so that's good. I don't think Jake Paul or KSI? (is that right?) or anyone else should step in the ring on a main boxing card. Boxing has always had a flavor of clown fights for the casuals.. Gene lebell vs milo savage and Muhammad ali fought Antonio Inoki are good examples of this. I just wish these celebrity type fights were on their own separate card and not on an actual boxing card where rankings and Championships are on the line. But if Youtube stars or celebrities want to host a boxing event and try to make money then knock yourself out.

At first I thought it was good to bring new eyes, but in the end, I think its ruining boxing because they tend to be clownshows. I couldn't believe how many people bet on Jake Paul vs AJ. Saw social media posts of people really upset AJ won, whining about it was unfair, etc...
