A silly fight, it's not the Wilder of the Fury fights, and even then he'd be outboxed. Now he'd be knocked out.if he fought Usyk.

The guy lost every round to Parker, got ko'd by Zhang, yet neither Joseph not Zhilei got a fight with Usyk. It almost makes one think of the marketing and business aspect, done so well by Jake Paul.

It would be so hilarious if a shot Wilder somehow landed one lucky bomb and won. A cherrypick gone wrong.

All you gen zers, so dumb you think your clever think boxing today is the real deal. It isn't, its dimminisbed horrbly, especially the Heavyweights.
The greats like Ali Frazier Foreman Norton all boxed each other multiple times in theyre era & in between boxed many voluntaries against cans.
The late 80s Tyson beat every belt holder & former belt holder of that generation (rummys corner) to become undeniable. 24 fights in 18 months to become champ.
Today's era has been destroyed by 1-2 a year hypejobs avoiding each other with they're entitled to promoters using permanent rematchroom clauses to hold the belts hostage milking the gen z morons silly.

Usyk is entitled to a couple of voluntaries if he wants to after proving how fake some of these belt holders were. Like 80s Tyson hes cleaned house.

I can't begrudge Usyk an easier voluntary but it shouldn't be Wilder. Wilder is shot beyond all recognition - he can't pull the trigger becuase he learnt against Fury and Zhang (FFS) that if he misses he's getting timed and sparked out - so he's become hesitant. His thought is to throw but the self preservation instinct over-rides the thought and the moment has gone. With Usyk being such a fantastic mover and counter puncher Wilder won't get off at all and after 2/3 rounds he'll be totally hesitant.

People decry Turki but as a fan he wants to see competitive fights and that's why he's not touching this with a barge pole.

Kabayel deserves a shot but be's being blocked by the belt orgs because he doesn't have the followers. Bakole - Kabayel on a Riyahd Season undercard to give one of them the boost they need. If Bakole loses he can retire. Kabayel winning will make his claim undeniable. Frank Sanchez is in the same boat - all these guys aren't young - if Itauma is about it, or Torrez thay can take a giant step forward beating one of the afore-mentioned three.

Wilder is shlt but I don't begrudge Usyk taking this fight to complete the check box of the major HWs of the era. Usyk always travels to other people's back yards, is prepared to face anyone, but at this stage of his career only has so many fights left. Shlt or not, Wilder has significant name recognition compared to any other potential opponent. Although he's gun shy, there's no way that Wilder can't still crack either.

Usyk has every right to take a tune-up fight. He doesn't even have to put the belts on the line if he doesn't want to for that type of fight.

Like someone alluded to, this is an execution and not a tune-up fight. Look at the HW top 10 for the last 5 years or even longer, not much there (not trying to take away from Usyk, RJJ went through this years ago).

Except for maybe Kabayel now and maybe Itauma, they're all easy wins on paper. Usyk still needs to be careful. The lack of real challenge or danger dulls the edge and gives a small opening to a young Itauma to pull an upset.

Professional athletes still remember how capitalism works and should not be expected to take one for the fans just because they finally got good money. Everyone else made money using them for years without worrying about the risks and potential long-term health damage etc

I’m thinking the same way…he’s shot, but what if he’s somehow able to land one big right hand.

The newbies don't see that between tough bouts with Frazier, Foreman and Norton Ali fought Euro Bims like Jean Pierre Coopman and exhibition with a Japanese guy who flopped on the canvas and kicked Ali's legs. Not every fight had to be the FOTC.

Hope Usyk fights in Vegas...I'll travel there to see it.
