That “bum” beat Froch in his own backyard during the Super Six. My eyes know what they saw.

These both retired because of the Soviets coming through the ranks.

Think Ward would have won the rematch anyway, Kovalev wasn't on it, had been on a drinking binge, not in sync with his coach etc.

Kovalev did win that first fight though.

Not really. He did leave undefeated and on top, but there was plenty more challenges out there and being so young, plenty more upcomers that he could have faced. I'm glad he's put himself into other avenues whether it be the podcast, doing interviews or commentating because he definitely has a sharp mind and knowledgeable about what he says when commentating fights. Though yeah, I feel like he left a bit on the table concerning his career and don't see him as this crazy ATG incredible fighter. Just a dude that got out at the right time (for himself).
Yes. Andre Ward did not quite retire, at the same peak as Joe Calzaghe or Lennox Lewis 'those two fighters fought all comers, and especially in the case of Lewis dominated their competitive divisions'.

Note: Andre Ward did not dominate the light heavyweight divisions, nowhere near the level of Roy Jones Junior 'and really? His best wins at 168 pounds, where in my opinion aided greatly by the timing of the fights. Beating Mikkel Kessler and Chad Dawson are still awesome wins, but those fighters for different reasons were sub-optimal during those fights'.

Chad Dawson at his absolute peak of his powers, during the aftermath of just beating Bernard Hopkins II 'he made a tactically mistake, challenging Andre Ward at 168 pounds. I knew there and then, as I was watching him make this challenge? That he was 50% beaten'.

Dawson should have posed a more tougher challenge for Ward, but he was just too weight drained at 168 pounds 'whoever advised him to pursue that fight at 168 pounds, or did not stop him from taking the fight. In my opinion, was not managing him correctly. Because fighting Andre Ward at 168 pounds, although within the boxing community it was a big fight. In terms of overall marketability, it was not a mega fight. Chad Dawson's two consecutive fights vs Bernard Hopkins I & II were much bigger fights. There was no need for the panic and desperation to fight Ward at that stage of his career, especially at 168 pounds'.

To conclude: So I agree? Andre Ward has achieved great individual feats such as becoming a Olympic Champion in the amateur ranks, and then 168 to 175 pound Champion in the professional ranks. But really his professional resume is not on a super all-time great level'.

On a individual fight by fight basis 'fighters like Joe Calzaghe, Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank Senior, and maybe even Carl Froch have a better resumes. But Andre Ward still has those individual titles and he was undefeated during his career, which does add to his resume' etc.

Think he knew he sc****d past kovalev and got a gift and if he fought bivol or beterbiev he would have caught a loss... not sure it would have even been that competitive at light heavy
