Hutson is a returnee from the 2025 USA squad that won World Juniors gold last year in Canada.
A defenceman playing NCAA hockey with the Boston University Terriers, he led all rookies in points and assists last season, being named the Tim Taylor Award winner (awarded to the best freshman in NCAA Division I).
A second-round draft pick by the Washington Capitals in 2024, Hutson led the 2025 World Juniors in points (11 points in seven games) and was the first blueliner to be the top points-scorer at a World Juniors.
Hutson is from a hockey family — his brothers Lane (Montreal Canadiens) and Quinn (Edmonton Oilers) are both contracted to NHL teams, with Lane enjoying a strong year with the Canadiens.
