Did Jake Paul do actually better than Francis Ngannou ?

Jake Paul lasted longer than Francis against AJ. Was JP performance actually better or was he too defensive against AJ ? What Jp did against AJ at the first round is logical and smart and is actually seen when Boxers go against big punchers in pro-matches. Was AJ taking it easier on JP than FN ?

2 totally different styles led to 2 totally different fights

ngannou is a seasoned top pro at a different sport
jake is half decent amateur type of boxer

Ngannou actually tried to win. That's worth infinitely more than Jake running for his life, attempting a dozen takedowns, and still getting his face broken in the end anyway. He'd have earned a lot more respect if he'd gone down swinging like Ngannou did. Jake showed up for a track meet and still got knocked out.

Precluding his MMA background, the fight against AJ was still only Francis’ 2nd pro boxing match.

Would Jake have fared as well as Francis did against Fury, even accounting for the version of Fury that turned up for that fight? Personally, I don’t think so…far from it.

Further, it’s arguable that the since KO’d and inactive AJ who presented against Paul was that much lesser a fighter than the version that engage Ngannou.

Finally, it is also arguable that AJ was deliberately fighting within himself for several rounds.

No, AJ gave him more liberty.
