I don't see that happening because when Mayweather is in the ring he is all business.Originally posted by joeboxerI have a feeling that Floyd could goof off enough to lose a fight, now or sometime soon. Then he will get serious and avenge it, but you can't train that hard when you are worried about court, hanging out with P Diddy, and finding the time to beat your woman.Comment

Floyd is not dumb for taunting Gatti, Gatti is dumb for taking a fight with somebody who has more boxing skills then a heavy bag. Floyd is going to KO Gatti and make him look ****** doing it-- the sad part is that he is nowhere near as good at Jr. Welter as he was at the lower weight classes...Comment

Mayweather has beaten TONS of fighters better then Gatti (Corrales, Castillo, Corley, just to name a few) so I don't think that Gatti getting mad is going to be an issue. Gatti simply is in over his head here. And as for his comments being disrespectful and without class, I suppose this is true- but the fact is that puts asses in seats and PPV's on TV's. I mean, Tyson bit Lewis and told a reporter he was going to "**** you 'till you love me" and that fight set PPV records... Sadly, being classy does not always sell.Comment

Jesus Chavez, Diego Corrales, Jose Luis Castillo, Angel Manfredy, and DeMarcus Corley, are all extremely talented fighters and Mayweather has defeated them all. "Pretty Boy" Floyd has fought his share of talented pugilists.
On June 25th, he'll add another respected competitor to the list when he takes on Arturo Gatti, and anyone who doesn't see the fact that Mayweather easily has the abilities to defeat a much more aged Gatti is ignorant, or simply 100% biased. I enjoy watching Gatti fight, I really do...who doesn't? He has lived up to the name "Human Highlight Reel," but the only real reason anyone pays any attention to him as of lately is simply because of his shocking display of heart and courage, which went virtually unnoticed until his trilogy of pain against Micky Ward.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been making major accomplishments and progress within the sport behind a curtain, so it seems. Gatti, in his response to Floyd's comments in NYC, said that he's the one selling the tickets, and that "They have to give away tickets when Floyd fights" is actually an accurate statement, and further proves my point. No body has paid any attention to the gifted and talented Mayweather, and this is his golden opportunity. He will perform TWICE as good in the lime light, in front of the millions of raving fans that he has deserved, not to mention the millions of other motivations he has yet to see until this point.
In the face of adversity, Floyd has performed just as any champion would. He fights harder when the stakes are against him. Take, for instance, his fight against a much larger and more powerful Diego Corrales. He simply could not have come off any better than he did in that bout, dispatching Corrales quickly with a TKO. Then once more, in his rematch against Castillo, after a controversial decision in their first meeting. He had a point to prove, and he did just that after a dominating performance from opening bell to closing bell.
Again, I respect both athletes in this bout, and enjoy watching both of them. However, in an honest statement I have to say that Floyd Mayweather Jr. will most likely take this fight with a 12-round unanimous decision, provided Arturo "Thunder" Gatti doesn't close the gap, and put the hurt on Floyd early. If this fight goes past the 5th round I say it's over for Gatti, plain and simple. Once Mayweather develops a rhythm and raises his confidence passed a certain level, it's simply irrevocable.Comment

Floyd is a bum not Gatti. This is going to be a good fight but I think Gatti has his number. Floyd can run his mouth all he wants but who really great has he fought? I mean atleast Gatti was the one who tried to get this fight and Mayweather kept ducking him and missing court and yada yada, I cant believe that Mayweather considers himself great thats pathetic. Gatti with the Win!!Comment
