Comments Thread For: Unconvincing Tim Tszyu has grand plans for ?the big boys? in 2026

I would not belittle Tim taking one or two more soft-to-moderate touches to better develop his game (if possible) and rapport with Diaz.
This article does not imbue that sort of message. It sounds like Tim is just going from one Joey Spencer situation to the next and that to me suggests he hasn't learned a thing and is ripe for another ass beating. Either rest or warm up; any of the top guys now will pick you apart, dude.

He's way past the padding the stats stage.
At this point in his career, soft touches serve no purpose other than to give him a false sense of accomplishment.
Unless beating soft touches is all he's good at.

I don't necessarily disagree. However, Tim's been jawing about rebirth left, right, and center, and from a trainer's perspective, I would want to make darn sure he's actually ready for a live body, and Velazquez was not a barometer from my eyes. Going straight back to the lion's den is admirable from a courage standpoint, but it ain't smart after the beatings he's taken. He is not ready and he may never be ready (likely), so while I wouldn't personally want to watch a soft touch fight, I also wouldn't judge him for one or two more as a confidence builder. But it sounds ultimately like he still has too much confidence.

Trainers should know better than to give their guy easy opps.
What does a fighter learn from them
Timmy fired his old trainers to correct his flaws.
His flaws aren't beating no hopers. Dealing with threats is where his problem lies.
A famous last name can carry a guy but so far.
He's seems like a good "kid" who wants to be a champ
He has to fight UP to his level to get there.
feel bad for Tim, people have kind of re-written history saying Fundora exposed him or ruined him seem to forget that the reason he lost was due to a horrific cut, how that fight was not stopped i do not know. he was winning that fight up until the cut completely changed it. THEN his team somehow think to then throw him in with the worst possible matchup in the entire division???
now he really does look damaged goods, before the Fundora fight he was a potential king of the division. crazy how things change.
