It can give you confidence and that's the most important thing in boxing. Call it false confidence or whatever but he should not step up from the level he was fighting now and if so maye one level up a slightly better opponent.

Why rushing him in with one of these killers, if you take care of your body you can easily compete at the high level until late 30s. The only fight he should take immediatley is the Zayas fight because this guy cant hurt you and is so overrated. He will most likely lose his belt against Abass anyway

I agree. If they let him fight another 2 or 3 middle of the road contenders, let him settle into the "boxing mode" rather than Terminator mode, he could challenge for a title.

Do you think he's not confident ?
No pro wants to be sent down to the minor leagues, which is what a hyped guy does when they take on D level no hopers.

If those killers can do it, so can he
Unless he's not who his fans think he is
          I'm not a fan nor a "hater".
I have a thing against sanctioned mismatches

Agreed, but Pedro Diaz should be working tirelessly with him in the gym on one thing primarily: head movement. Tszyu has a major problem eating punches because his head is consistently on the center line. Until he fixes that, he's a very fringe guy at 154 and would get murdered at 160.

He has zero chance of beating Zayas until he incorporates some head movement into his game. His head is consistently on the center line. Diaz needs to fix that if he can. Fast.

Timmy fired his old trainers to correct his flaws.
His flaws aren't beating no hopers.
Dealing with threats is where his problem lies.
A famous last name can carry a guy but so far.

He's seems like a good "kid" who wants to be a champ
He has to fight UP to his level to get there.
The "padder" fights enable you to work on things. Tim needs to work hard on head movement. Diaz should work on nothing else in the gym the next few months.

Training camp and watching film is more beneficial than fighting no hopers.
Fighting no hopers are backward steps.

Fighters usually are who they are and no trainer is going to change them.
