I think that it is a smart idea on the part of Terence Crawford to retire on top. So few fighters retire healthy , wealthy , and at their peak position in the sport. He has earned every bit of his success through hard work and I am happy for him and his family. Go enjoy the life that your hard work has provided for you Mr. Crawford, I hope that it is a long and happy one. Congratulations.

Of course, Eggington is the main one of the three, and I could accept him even leaving the Bradley fight, but given how close Mayweather pushed Logan Paul in his close loss to him, I think we need to see Crawford vs Mayweather based on that alone. The World will stand still in 2028 for the most super of super fights when Jake Paul and Logan Paul face each other for the keys to the world. Nash out - His Majesty

There is no bigger fight. Even a Canelo rematch wouldn't be anywhere close to the first in terms of hype or pay. He is done.

And he made the best of what he had in a lighter era

I have him a shade off in ability from Floyd and Sugar Leonard

both ran through MULTIPLE greats. Floyd did it easily while Sugar Leonard did it competitively but his great opps were higher skill level
I don't disagree, but I personally don't think Floyd could have hung in there with Leonard at 147. Same with Crawford. However, I see Floyd smoking Crawford at 135 and Crawford smoking Floyd at 147.

Castillo & Maidana.. Bud cooks both, but Floyd schools Madrimov so it's a tie for me. That said, Floyd had more opportunities to show his greatness so it would be futile to argue all time p4p rankings. To many intangibles and ways to interpret things which makes it a never ending game of speculation.

Like Usyk & Loma's or even Roy Jones' place in boxing history, it's a never ending what if.. At that point we all inject personal preferences with regards to style, agression, power etc.

We'll see but I wouldn't be surprised if this is some kind of negotiating tactic to get a bigger payday when he eventually does return.

              Time will tell.

Janibek ruined his plan to become undisputed at 160. His undisputed run sort of felt like how Russell Westbrook used to ball hog his way to average a triple double in multiple seasons instead of letting it happen organically. His undisputed run would’ve been more impressive if he had at least defended those belts once after he won them, then moved on to the next division, but he never did. He waited for those guys to do the heavy lifting and then challenged them for undisputed. Great boxer, historic run in the 4 belt era, but Canelo and Spence(I’m not sure he’s a HOF) are arguably the only two HOF on his resume.

thus TBud's departure leaves the door open for Top Soviet Bivol, Naoya, or Usyk to surpass him in all time rankings

                    Avenues to surpass TBud

Top Soviet Bivol mop Artur, Fat Dave, and Parker's Cousin Buff Guy Jai. The latter 2 would then need to become HOF

Naoya beat Junto and Jesse. They go onto HOF

Usyk beat Biblical Moses in the second half of 2027 when he goes from green to pre-prime. Hope that Biblical Moses stays focused to become a long reigning heavyweight champ All Time Great. He would only be 23 then so there's time for this scenario to happen

Great fighter for this era and even the Donald Curry and Milt McCrory era. But Leonard's speed and power overwhelm him, while Hearns' power ends the fight. Duran of Montreal roughs him up and is too much for him. Benitez would be a very difficult fight for him. That era was greats all fighting each other.
