Terence Crawford insisted that any fight with Manny Pacquiao would have to take place at the 140-pound super lightweight division. In 2016, after defeating Viktor Postol to unify titles at 140 pounds, Crawford made it clear that Pacquiao would need to move down in weight to meet him there

Terence Crawford dominates Viktor Postol, becomes junior welterweight unified titlist

After the fight, talk quickly turned to the possible showdown with Pacquiao (58-6-2, 38 KOs), the Filipino great and boxing's only eight-division titleholder."If Bob Arum wants that fight and my coaches want that fight, that's something we'll talk about later," Crawford said. "I let my coaches handle that. I am a fighter and I will fight anybody. I'm happy and I'm about to go on vacation. We not worried about Manny Pacquiao right now."

But Crawford made one thing clear -- if the fight happens, he will insist that Pacquiao, who has been fighting as a welterweight for years, come down in weight to challenge him for his title belts at junior welterweight.

"It will be at 140," Crawford said.

Undefeated Terence Crawford used his power and speed to defeat Viktor Postol by unanimous decision on Saturday night at the MGM Grand Arena.

Bob Arum admits he killed Pacquiao-Crawford fight, didn’t want to see Manny take damage
Arum fields questions about his perspective on Pacquiao’s ongoing career.

On if he would have any reservations of making a fight between Pacquiao and Terence Crawford:

“Well I killed the fight. Yeah. [I wouldn’t want that for Manny] because I know how it would end...Not that I knew that it would end in serious disability for Manny — that I wouldn’t know — but as a fight it would only end one way.

“Forget my emotions, I wouldn’t wanna see him take that kind of damage because it might affect his future life — quality of his future life.”

Crawford's career would've been much more legendary had he beaten Pacquiao, and then went to PBC when Danny Garcia, Keith Thurman, Shawn Porter, and Errol Spence Jr. were all in their primes!

Top Rank chairman Bob Arum received authorization from Pacquiao this summer to pursue a fight with Crawford in Qatar slated for November on ESPN PPV, sources said, and talks ostensibly reached an advanced stage.

Crawford was offered $6.5 million guaranteed, per sources, along with upside of the pay-per-view at $5 for every buy over 300,000. He countered at $9.5 million with upside at 500,000.

Crawford fought Brook for 4 million no ppv upside instead. derp.

manny made arum try to make the fight and uh yeah crawford said no and fought brook for less. stop blaming arum or manny. its utter nonsense. crawford himself said he didnt want it unless it was at 140, only moved up to 147 to fight jeff horn who "beat" manny, then pac was washed up or thought to be washed up until 2019-2020 when he got back on top, and yeah crawford said no. in early 2019 pac hadnt beaten thurman yet so arum thinking pac was finished makes a lot of sense and him not wanting the fight makes sense. after pac proved he was still a top guy he tried to make teh fight and crawford said no.

Do you give any of those guys a chance to actually beat Crawford?
Back then, the scene was a lot different but it's not really the point, we wanted to see good fights with the biggest names and best fighters taking each other on. We didn't get that for a long time with Crawford, we did towards the end and it felt like too little, too late relative to his potential. Hey if you're happy, that's fine, I felt like we missed out really. He was capable of being a real global star.

Okay I’ll tell you why not by asking you. Was the bout close?

I’m all for rematches when they warrant them, like if it was a close match and fun bout. The bout was not close and while it was intriguing to watch, there wasn’t a lot of drama and it wasn’t a barn burner so to speak. There was no doubt who the winner was.

And I don’t think Canelo even wants a rematch. Why doesn’t he rematch Bivol??? Wasn’t that on the table too?

Bivol had a rematch with Beterbiev because it was a FUN and CLOSE bout.

Let’s be honest here. Canelo’s done. He doesn’t want work with boxers who are more skilled than him.

I mean if they come together and work something out, then sure, but I don’t think anyone’s calling for a rematch.

And to say “we don’t know if Crawford is good in rematches,” it sounds like you’re reaching for something to put a negative mark on his resume.

There was never a public outcry for Crawford to rematch anyone. If anything, he should’ve rematched Madrimov over Canelo.
