You're not paying attention: ALL PRESIDENTS since Kennedy have avoided combat. Not just Bush. ALL of them.
And certainly you have a right to your opinion, however naieve I may think it is. I'm perfectly willing to defend your right by whatever means necessary, even unto death. Took an oath to that effect, years ago, in fact.
My point is that you really just don't know what your talking about, because you're completely ignorant as to the mindset of the US Military men and women, whether they're willing to go into action or not, or how much they know before they do. Before you go telling everyone how wrong it is for our service men and women to be sent to die, maybe you should talk to a few of them first, and get their opinions. I think you'll be surprised and enlightened.
Also...if you think our time in the middle east has been wasted, or was over oil, then this entire conversation has been a waste of my time and effort.

That's a tricky question.
Me as a person, I don't require the fighters to die. Or be willing to die, in the ring. But that IS the nature of the game. That's why sanctioned fights, to this day, are attached with such controversy. Because, at the heart of things, boxing is a brutal sport. Those that are willing to take more punishment will get farther. If you are in there against a guy that is willing to die, and you are not, you are at an immediate disadvantage.
Like.. Ali against Foreman and Frazier. He crippled himself for life in those fights, imo, and if I could go back and prevent that from happening and make Ali have a clean bill of health today, I would.
But damn, did we get some good fights from it, or what?.

I doubt anyone wants to see a death in the ring. Doctors, refs, and corners need to do a better job on pulling the plugs on fights so that the fighter doesn't have to. When they don't come to the rescue, a fighter has to make their own decisions. As a fan, I have the right to call it how I see it, no matter how insensitive it may seem. Yeah it's ludicrous, but so is saying that any NFL or NBA professional player sucks. Just like we all hold elite players to certain standards, I hold boxers to certain standards. And one of those is that you don't quit in a fight.

Is the right thing 2 do when you have a bunch of idiots around the ring that only worry about making more money out of two fighters killing each other. For example look at Cotto's bloody face, body movement and the type of beating he was taking. Why him been a proud warrior have to c himself taking knee when there's doctors refs and other ppl ring side. He took care of himself and doing it, took care of his carrer, family and his own life. In this sport you have 2 do this since right now there's sooooo much dirty **** going on, steroids, weight difference, plaster etc...... **** MMA tapping out is making them millions and nobody call them b!tches. They tap out avoiding to get a dislocate shoulder while boxers go thru a whole fight with a broken hand, a jaw or half blind. NBA, MLB, NFL and other major sport associations don't even let their players execute with a open wound no matter how small it is, but Duran, Ortiz, Cotto and others are da bitches.......

Take a knee, it's part of the sport for a reason. Cotto was smart, he would've not only been knocked out, but possibly killed. I'm sure Margocheato knew he couldn't beat'm, also, margs used those wraps as far back as Jersey with that other puerto rican kid...every time margs hit'm in the ribs the guy jumped up as if he was being hit by bricks...not far off
