Teo will have to take the initiative here or it'll likely be a 12 rd snoozer probably Shakur winning in that case.
I thought Barboza would be more competitive and take it to Teo, but he appeared always one or two steps behind. He also doesn't have the mindset or skill-set of a pressure fighter, so he was never able to turn it into a 'fight' when he was losing the 'boxing' match. Teo seemed to be coasting for a majority of the fight. Maybe Barboza will look reinvigorated at 147 without the weight cut...but I think he's shown his limits in his past few performances. What also stood out to me was the swelling under Teo's eye from just one straight right. Of course boxing isn't ballet, but Teo barely got touched and still left with bruising. I wonder if he's noticed this vulnerability, and maybe that's why he hasn't moved up yet. Teo has been calculated recently; calling out Ennis while brushing off Norman...probably assuming that he'll be able to box and out-manuever a drained Ennis like he did vs. Barboza. Teo has also figured that he'll be able to bully Shakur due to Shakur's own deficiencies (moving up in weight, chronic hand issues, etc.), so he's staying at 140 a bit longer for a relatively easy payday. Teo sees Shakur as a sitting duck....and I think Shakur feels the same about Teo.

boxingitis, it's difficult to go for the kill when you don't have dependable hands or stopping power. I think Shakur's style matches his physical limits. There's certain things that Shakur cannot absorb from Crawford's mentorship.

Ridiculous comment. Both are world champions, with one of them on the P4P list. That’s a main event now or 10 years ago.

I would much rather Teo face Haney instead but he won’t because he lacks the balls in order to do so. The Haney’s have been pursuing the Lopez’ for years.

Now he is about to take an unnecessary asswhupping from Shakur when he really didn’t have to. I guess they fear Haney more than they do Stevenson.

The Lopez’ have been avoiding Devin for years.

It means that Teofimo Lopez, Jr is not a headliner or a main event attraction. He can’t draw flies to shit.

"Not a headliner" obviously he is.

Wow! You say that about an Olympic silver medalist and a three weight division champion. Incredible stuff here. Do tell though, you state Shakur is TALENTED with FAST hands and feet and GOOD reflexes (your words) but "he is not that skilled from what YOU have seen". This is incredible stuff.

Yes, there is a difference between what James Toney did for example and what Shakur does. He relies largely on talent. You'll see when he fights someone who can figure out what to do with quick fleetfooted fighters. Whether he knows what to do an make adjustments? IDK yet

I did not based on what a saw in the McComb fight which was him just following McComb around getting outboxed.

Maybe, maybe not since Shakur was struggling so bad to make 130 he had to move up and you never know how weight jumps effect fighters until you see them in the new class.

Ofcourse Haney getd away with PEDs thanks to Victor Conter and is allowed to Unlimited Clinching aka Hugging. Plus Haney is Turki's mascot.

Teo’s best wins have all come against older white fighters. Not once has he ever defeated a contemporary or a peer of his who was elite like Shakur Stevenson.

Likewise, there were huge gaps in age in his victories over Lomachenko and Taylor as well. Now he is challenging someone who is just as young, athletic and more scientific than himself.
