The WBC sounds like a trust fund being setup for retired fighters. Though most of the fighters bringing in the big bucks should already be able to retire wealthy on their own and not need assistance. This sounds more like a charity for lesser known fighters or ones that squandered away all their earnings and are now in need. I'm not sure that it should be on current fighters to fund this to be able to "own" a title under their organization. It's like representing a charity that just takes takes takes from you from all your work. A tax for being a fighter on top of your money already being taxed by the government.

If anything, things probably stayed quiet for too long and these organizations did well because fighters were either not intelligent enough to speak up against it or worried of push back. Crawford being in the position he's in knows he doesn't need them and can still pull in mega fights with big bucks.

I think when fighters get big enough in the sport, it's wise to kick the belts over and just go on as a free agent making the biggest fights the public demands. As long as you're winning, people will continue to watch regardless if you have a title. Just look at all these mega Youtuber fights that are making crazy money and no title on the line.

Mauricio Sulaiman is a fat disgusting POS and he's done a horrible job of running the WBC into the ground, he has no class, no word and he's disgraceful. That being said Bud Crawford and his team are no better. Bud is a lowlife, ****** trash, foul mouthed guy and is a horrible example of a Champion. Kids look up to this guy and this is how you speak in public? Can you imagine Ali, Leonard and any of the modern day greats speaking like that? Never.... Even when they took Ali's title he never spoke like that... Bud, Ish Hinson, and that creep lawyer are all peas in a pod....

This is an interesting debate but the timing of it looks su****ious to me. It almost feel like there is an agenda at play here.

Crawford complaints about having to pay sanctioning fees and praises the ring even wishes Turki and Dana good luck with the new organisation.
The hipocricy here comes that no matter who you fight for a boxer will have to pay out regardless, whether on sanctioning fees or the money that he's not getting cause the new Zuffa model could potentially pocket most of it for the good of the "league".
So now a boxer will have a new predicament and another belt, another organisation. Which one posses a lesser cost or which one is more beneficial?

In my opinion what has unfolded here it's all politics. And politics will never be perfect or please everyone.

WBC doubled their fee, I wonder if before or after contracts signed. WBC may have had
a part in Canelo taking the fight, giving Terrace his biggest payday.

Was Canelo also charged the 6% fee?

it seems you are new to boxing. every eliminator, silver belt, interim belt, intercontinental belt, whatever belt requires sanctioning fees. sometimes they simultaneously have a full champion, interim champion, final eliminator, some?! other eliminator and a couple of lower belts. if it was only one belt and fees for it, it would be ok.

the blame is on crawford here for ACCEPTING those conditions. i hate wba and wbc guys to the point i want them dead but crawford is wrong here.
