Why would he go up to face another non-star when he’s 1 belt away from undisputed ? Is he having trouble making weight ? I just don’t see the logic in passing up this opportunity just because he can’t fight for the IBF next.

Probably a weight thing. Bare in mind IBF has a rehydrate rule too.

      Either that or negotiation stance.

        It's a weight thing.
Bam gets pretty heavy in between fights.

So far the weight cut hasn't affected his performance.
But him and his team probably has an issue with making Superfly.

Pretty sure the rehydration clause doesn’t apply with unifications. Unified rules and all that.

Was Hoping to see Christian Medina fight against Juan Francisco Estrada (#1 in the WBO rankings) in 2026, with the winner fighting Bam Rodriguez afterwards.

Couldn't Bam fight Takuma Inoue first?

              Doesn't apply in unifications.

You should try reading the article, it's explained.

Willibaldo Garcia is the owner of the IBF strap, and will defend his title against Kenshiro Teraji on December 27 as part of the “Night of The Samurai” card in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The winner has been ordered to face mandatory challenger Andrew Moloney in their first defense, and Moloney is refusing to step aside, meaning Rodriguez would be forced to wait for “undisputed”.
"Undisputed" is a nonsense concept anyway. There are better rated guys at super-fly than the IBF belt holder.

                  Inoue wants revenge against Tsutsunmi.
Tsutsunmi is about to put Donaire in a retirement home to end the year.
Takuma Inoue will want a unification rematch over Bam.
Plus Bam can force the issue against Medina due to WBO rules.

How many title shots are the Moloneys going to get? Messing up unification.
