As great as they were, both of their careers were contrived to some degree. Choosing not to acknowledge that in order to pursue a decade old (at least) argument on the internet tells its own story.

crawford fans keep insisting that tc is greater than pacquiao. But how can a 5-division champion be greater than an 8-division champion? They say it’s easy — yet in the entire history of boxing, there’s only one 8-division. If it’s really that easy, then push crawford to chase those divisions too.

Pacquiao proved greatness by beating fighters who were naturally bigger and had longer reach. Meanwhile, crawford mostly faces opponents smaller than him — that’s not greatness, that’s an advantage. I’m not saying crawford isn’t good; he’s talented. But if he wants to match pacquiao’s legacy, he still has time. Do what pacquiao did: Move up, conquer higher divisions, win that 8th weight title, and fight opponents your own size and reach.
