To conclude: I think the media machine behind David Benavidez, very similar to Moses Itauma 'for whatever reason the media machine have picked him as the next big boxing superstar. But like I stated earlier in my post? David Benavidez is not a rookie fighter; he has already been a World Champion at 168 pounds. And lost that World title because he could not make the weight of 160 pounds'.

Can David Benavidez be a Champion at 175 pounds, for awhile? Yes sure. But then I think it will be inevitable that at some point he is going to get smashed up.

I still think that Canelo Alvarez if he moves back up to 175 pounds division and is in more solid condition there than his last fight. He still may have chance of beating David Benavidez 'because stylistically it has always been a fight straight up Alvarez's street' etc.
Dave is a prolific bodypuncher and great at guard manipulation

his spear jab and defense are good

    flawed footwork is his imperfection

He’s media friendly so the media loves him

I’d be surprised af if Dave becomes a super dominant

super dominants are rare these are the TBud Bivol Naoya

as great as Usyk is I wouldn’t call him super dominant

In their biggest fights super dominants win wide decisions >= 9-3 or score strong stoppages

Saul wasn’t ever a super dominant but became the face anyways by making a lot of big fights

Like Saul Alvarez Dave hasn’t been DOMINANT in his biggest fights

but Saul faced the better opps so he’s better talent. 8-4’d Past Prime Miguel, KO’d Past Prime Sergey, 8-4’d Past Prime Gennady

Saul is in the shallow end of great

right now Dave ability is somewhere between good and *very good

*very good are IBHOF locks like Miguel Cotto they knocked on the doors of greatness but the gate remain closed
It's the Mike Tyson CONnumdrum....."dominant" vs poor opposition.
No one talks about Benny's resume because there is nothing to talk about.

Prime Mike was one of the highest scorers on the eye test

To this day there are casuals who believe he was the best they ever seen

if David is anywhere near that level, he’ll show us soon

          Well yes, solid post.

Like I said? David Benavidez is a world class fighter 'but I don't really consider him an elite level fighter, in terms of skill and ability. I personally think that is already clear at 175 pounds, how exactly and against whom did he win his WBC 175 title against? By the looks of it he was just in the right place at the right time'.

David Benavidez's entire game at 168 pounds, was his pressure fighting and destructive defense 'as you will know? Truly elite level fighter's ether add to their game, or improve their game as they move up through the weight divisions. We witnessed those processes with Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Junior'.

Note: I would not really put Terrence Crawford in the same bracket as Mayweather Junior or Pacquiao 'because having one fight at both 154 pounds and then 168 pounds, does not really prove that you have dominated another weight division'.

Floyd Mayweather Junior and Manny Pacquiao fought the top champions and multiple contenders in all weight divisions they competed in 'their game was more proven as they moved up through the weight divisions than Terrence Crawford'.

To conclude: But on the topic of David Benavidez, he can surely become a very popular fighter 'but I honestly don't think he has the talent or game to duplicate what Canelo Alvarez has done in his career. Time will tell, but I already think David Benavidez as a fighter has exposed certain expects of his character. He has been a Champion before, and lost titles because he could not make the weight. And this was the conduct and behaviour of fighter early in his career, not during the latter stages'.

You also have to wonder how long he will even stay competing at 175 pounds 'his hardcore fans this week have been gushing over him, being in condition. Those are not good signs, celebrating a fighter being in condition. If David Benavidez was an elite level fighter, his fan base would just expect him to be in condition for every single fight. That is how it was with Floyd Mayweather Junior, Manny Pacquiao, Canelo Alvarez, Bernard Hopkins, Roy Jones Junior and many more elite level fighters' etc.

Dave’s physique looked absolutely horrible on the scales yesterday and he looked scrawny in comparison to Yarde who looked like a bodybuiler.

              However, muscles DON’T win fights!

                reminds me of Erik Morales

even when fit they have low muscle tone

Spray_resistant the one Mexican who’s actually built like a stud Ryan is nowhere near as good as the Mexicans who have no chance in a bodybuilding competition
