Considering Calzaghe was fortunate to get a split decision over Robin Reid, perhaps his resume should be looked at closer. I'd favor him over Canelo because of his work rate, but I don't think it would be one sided.

I agree w Paulie here, but i will say that Canelo had a plethora of big fights. One of those GGG fights had to be in the top 3. So while it’s true he may have lost his two biggest, only the Crawford one looks bad. He was supposed to lost to Floyd. Crawford, he was favored and really got exposed. All in all a legitimate Hall of Fame resume much better than Calzaghe but Calzaghe probably beats any version of CaneloComment

Canelo would have to hurt him with anything solid he landed or he'd just get swept away. Joe too swift of hand and foot.
That's not to say Calzaghe wasn't just off it sometimes as has been said. Robin Reid, Starie I remember being awful, and then there was an Algerian bloke whose name I forget, even Byron Mitchell had Joe down and in some danger.
He had a great chin but when he did go down it was early in fights. So there'd be a window there for Canelo.Comment

Two very overrated fighters on the grand scheme, overly hyped and held in a much higher regard than they should be thanks to brilliant matchmaking for most part.
That said I think Calzaghe beats him pretty easily and frustrates the hell out of him.
He's all wrong for Canelo and everything Canelo hates fighting. Southpaw who utilises angles and throws 5s and 6s with great cardio.
I don't see Canelo winning even with his favourite judges he'd just be reduced to a mere punchbagComment
