Damaged goods. The Charlo fulmination may have looked like an accident, but Fundora definitely ruined Lubin. You just don't recover from a beating like that.

Can't take a punch anymore, should retire for his own safety.

Lubin decided the best strategy against ortiz was to sit, on the ropes, WTF

While, I wish Lubin all the best in his future endeavors. However, I think it would be best if he just retires.

He’s had his run and a good career. However, now it’s time for him to ride off into the sunset.

I am beginning to worry about his long term health and well-being. He’s showing signs of wear and tear on his body.

He displayed no movement, reflexes, speed, power or stamina in the ring versus Vergil Ortiz. A prolonged career would only further ruin him even more.

He was badly concussed on Saturday night and should call it quits.

This is no different than a street walker at this point. Just selling your body to the highest bidder then come back years later and complain about head trauma or medical bills.

If these boxers put atleast 5% of all their purses in a IRA they should be set by 50 years old. The only thing they gotta worry about is health care or they can just retire with Medicare.

Wow, he's bringing that iron chin of his to the middleweights. Not a good decision but there's nowhere else for him to turn and having been at 154 for so long.

This was not his strategy or any decision he thought through this was bad habits kicking in. Bad habits developed in his sparring sessions like so many other fighters.

I see the same thing in my gym people getting tired and revert back to a bad habit sitting lazy on the ropes with a passive defense/high guard. So many fighters including Lubin develope this deadly habit in sparring, it can "help" them to catch a breath or allow them to just being lazy due to the big gloves and headguard they wearing but on fight night you will pay for it.

First of all it looks bad from a judging point of view but even worst you have a high chance it does not work like it used to be in sparring and you receiving damage.
I watched enough of Lubins sparring clips to know he developed that in sparring and it reflected in his fights you can't do that with a power puncher who creates openings and is lethal to head and body.

If you go to the ropes you need to have a active defense, still rolling, still slipping, still actively blocking, catching and anticipating shots.
