No, Ericson. You will put up a good fight, but will eat too many body shots and lose a clear UD. You're nothing more than a gallant "try hard" guy who was picked for a reason.
Good boxer, perhaps fortunate to get the win over, who was it, Ramos, but he's recovered decently since the battle against Fundora, and the one round ko loss to Jermell.
Unfortunately many just remember him by his two defeats, whereas I guess in MMA they lose a few times and still, mercifully, understandably, get more good opportunities.
Lubin chose the more paying "L". I actually think he had a better chance to outbox Murtazaliev than to beat Ortiz. He's now setting himself up to be a gatekeeper.
I love Lubin's attitude and his fighting style but I always fear for his safety, sometimes his life, whenever he steps in the ring. Lubin has been through too many wars. This fight will be a barnburner for sure but I hope both fighters get to go home to their families at the end of the fight.
Should be a fun fight while it lasts. Favor an Ortiz stoppage but will be interesting to see Lubin test the Texan's chin imo and how Ortiz responds. Lubin is a bigger puncher than Boha.
May the best man win
Issue with guys like Ortiz is his style can be easily mimicked in sparring. Lubins style is harder to find. If Lubin hit harder, id give him the edge but I see Ortiz grinding out a decision or late stoppage. He will likely expose Ortiz a bit more too.
Could be a HUGE career saving victory for Lubin if he can pull it off, but I just do not think he has enough tools to make it happen unless Ortiz plays into his strengths. Not sure Ortiz is willing to help.
Vergil has fought some tough opponents - Mean Machine, Bohachuk, Madrimov... Hammer has fought tough opponents. Vergil uses the high guard and side to side head movement to slip and close distance. He has a pretty strong jab. Hammer is battle tested, skilled and southpaw. He can crack and doesn't fold. I notice Vergil's form fades in the 2nd half of the fight, hands drop, but so far, he always manages to get the job done This is going to be a very good fight. Who's training Hammer now? I think I'm going with Hammer on this one by majority decision
