Martinez would beat Vanes at this point of Vanes career. Who has Vanes even beaten? I think Martinez beating Cintron is a better win then anything Vanes has done thus far in his career. -

First of all Martinez didn't beat Cintron, it was a draw regardless of how ****ed up the scoring was. Secondly who the **** has Martinez ever beaten let alone beaten. A shot Alex Bunema? I give you that he did dominate Cintron but you cant judge him with that one fight. As a matter of fact if you look at the winning percentage of Sergio's opponents they have a winning a percentage of 68%, versus Vanes' opponenent's who have a winning a percentage of 70% and Vanes has a higher KO percentage. So before you post something up, please go and check boxrec.com and compare the two guys' competition versus just throwing out a blanket statement without any facts. Just look at the last 6 fighters the have fought and what those fighters have done before and after those respective bouts and then you tell me who has a better resume!!!Comment

Oh yeah!!!! I will love 2 c another Cotto/Gomez mismatch type of fight. This guys is good but still green, well this is boxing and one punch can change everything and dude got power. But Martinez is too ol'school and have mad skillz to let that happend....Comment

People are going to laugh for me saying this, but Vanes is becoming the real deal.
If you have watched him in the last year you can see how far he has come. He is at the point of being a legit threat to anyone at 154. Two years ago I would have laughed at the suggestion, but Top Rank has done something right with him by bringing him along slowly. He is maturing into a very good fighter.Comment
