I think Parker went to the head and forgot the body. When he did it Wardley felt it and I am sure Usyk will get him out of there easily,

If this was a non-title fight, and both fighters where ether Rookie Fighters 'or one of the fighters was in the latter stages of their careers. Then yes? The stoppage of the fight would have been almost 100% justified. But that was not the case, this was a WBA Interim Heavyweight title fight, where both Joseph Parker and Fabio Wardley were putting everything on the line'.

Why was this fight stopped? But Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Uysk I, round 9 was not stopped? Tyson Fury was many times more hurt than Joseph Parker, showing zero signs of fighting back. With the ropes helping him out, and keeping him from smashing into the ring canvas'.

Note: Last night was still a great performance by Fabio Wardley 'and it is a great win for him. But the fight really in my opinion should not have been stopped, Joseph Parker was still on his feet and? He was showing signs of fighting back trying to survive and endure the storm from Fabio Wardley'.

Still tactically I stated before the fight that, Joseph Parker at 260 + pounds 'was unnecessarily heavy. I don't think he carries that sort of weight very well, and the mass is not all functional. This was evident from his last fight against a grossly out of condition Martin Bakole. Even though Bakole was out of condition, and could hardly move inside the boxing ring? He was able to find Parker in that fight; it was a competitive fight until Bakole was decked. The stoppage of Bakole was greatly influenced by him being out of condition, and not really competing in the fight to win. There was no need for Billy Nelson to allow Bakole at a few days noticed, to be drawn into a brutal battle with Joseph Parker'.

To conclude: In an ideal world? I think there really should be a rematch between Joseph Parker and Fabio Wardley II 'but that is most likely not going to happen for awhile. Joseph Parker is not a heavyweight fighter with the prestige of Anthony Joshua or Tyson Fury, so I don't really think he can demand a immediate rematch vs the WBA interim Heavyweight Champion in Fabio Wardley'.

Joseph Parker still may be given an opportunity to fight Anthony Joshua II in a rematch 'I think this is still a one of the good fights for Joshua. And it does make sense for both fighters. People within the boxing community, I think would still rate a win over Parker for the second time quite highly for Anthony Joshua. Joseph Parker is still a capable heavyweight fighter, I just think they prepared with the wrong tactics for this fight'.

Joseph Parker is not David Tua, and has never been a destructive power puncher 'his best attributes are his solid boxing fundamentals, brute strength combined with his durability. Being 260 + pounds, of unfunctional mass was not really optimal for Parker. I don't think he carries that amount of mass very well, which has been evident from his past fights'.

Fabio Wardley has earned a title fight ether vs Oleksandr Uysk, or against another top Heavyweight contender potentially if the titles become vacant in the future etc.

This was a brilliant fight. I was in tears of joy for Fabio! No way should a fella with nothing but a white collar background be beating an established former world champ in Joseph Parker. I think wardley has more heart and grit than almost any other active fighter in the whole of British boxing. His power is real. He looked out on his feet tbh but he found a way. He keeps finding a way. Couldn’t happen to a nicer, well spoken and well mannered fighter, he deserves the usyk payday and I hope he makes the type of money that allows him to never work a day in his life again. Everything he’s got he’s had to earn. No handouts and nothing given.

Joseph Parker will always be loved by people in Britain for his character, willingness to fight everybody and his accomplishments. The way he’s willing to take such bold risks when not needing to should be commended. Not only did he not have to take this fight, he decided whilst up on the cards, to partake in wild exchanges with Fabio when all he had to do was box him down the final stretch. I’m sure the corner and himself will be kicking themselves when watching it back. If Joseph decides he’s going for another run at it, I wish him luck. Going to be difficult though. I can see frank wanting to feed Parker to Itauma in the near future. That could end badly for JP. I’d like to see Joe stop now. Be happy with what you’ve done. Nothing to prove. No need to take unnecessary risks.👍 1Comment

I'm wondering if Parker's approach was dictated by his weight? Rather than using his experience and mobility, he decided to forget footwork and slug it out with a puncher?

The ref's stoppage was a bit quick IMO. Parker wasn't punching back but still slipping most punches towards the end.

I'd like to see Kabayal vs Wardley first. Or Usyk vs Kabayal. I feel the German is still the better fighter.👍 1Comment

Same here. Wardley has been improving, he actually had some pretty good head movement in parts of the fight and made Parker miss especially when Parker had him on the ropes.Comment

I'm convinced Everybody saying it's a premature stoppage just want to see somebody die in the ring. Parker had nothing left and there was a whole minute left.👍 1Comment

People still sleeping on Fabio The Phenom Wardley. What's going to happen when The Phenom inevitably catches Usyk with that NUCLEAR WEAPON of a right hand ? If I'm Wardley s team I'm having him throw the right at least 50% of the time to Usyks body.Comment

I say yes , Parker with the weight decided to B A N G with a B A N G er and it was a bad strategy. From the beginning he was fighting Wardley instead of boxing him. It was hubris and over estimation of his own power that did him in , along with Wardley being one tough in shape punching machine.I'm wondering if Parker's approach was dictated by his weight? Rather than using his experience and mobility, he decided to forget footwork and slug it out with a puncher?

The knockout was all but inevitable. Besides the time left in the11th there was a whole Round 12 coming up. People are forgetting the sequence that put Parker on the ropes , those were clean hard punches , Parker was going to go either way.Comment
