Jai is the one doing the ducking.

Jai's last three opponents were Squeo, Nyika, and Massey and he's fighting Cinkara next.

Zurdo's last four opponents were Dorticos, Billam-Smith, Goulamirian, and Joe Smith Jr. Bivol before that.

Zurdo is fighting champion after champion after champion while Jai is literally fighting the absolute worst guys he can get away with without being stripped of the title by the IBF.

Just because Opetaia is the one loudly accusing everyone else of ducking doesn't mean he's actually trying to make the fights, and just because he can't get Zurdo or Jack doesn't give him an excuse to fight the absolute bottom of the barrel guys he's been fighting his entire career minus the two good wins over Briedis.

I don't think any fighter is truly scared of another, but more of the outcome that it can bring. That is, loss in earnings for future bouts. Loss of position in rankings. Loss of position in being a player that is making his moves into the right position for a mega $$$ matchup. Especially more now than ever in the past. Fighters are looking to secure insane paychecks with the likes of Turki and they cannot afford to face a guy that should they lose to him, can throw all of that away.

So I think they're more afraid of the loss than the opponent, if that even makes sense.

Do boogaymen ever amount to anything ?
The whole "Everyone is ducking him..." unconfirmed tall tales.......

Dominating dead divs and a ton of no hopers ?

Margacheato was the last notable boogeyman
His claim to fame turned out to be a joke
King for a day, bum for life.

Benny has been anointed some badass while having what could be the worst resume in the sport.

              Kabayel.

It's actually shocking as well considering how good he is, his name isnt even mentioned.

Honestly don't think he will even get a title shot until he's 35 which will basically be at the end of his prime.

He'll be the next mandatory after Usyk faces the Parker/Wardley winner.

Yeah, so Usyk vs Parker will probably happen June or July, then you can expect Usyk to be allowed a voluntary, which will be next December, then Kabayel probably June 2027 gets his shot

He's 33 now so my timeline adds up

Who would he take a voluntary defense against? Fury reiterated his retirement today, Dubois already got knocked out twice and is seeking the IBF route again, Joshua already lost twice.

The only guys with any name value out there he hasn't beaten are Wilder and Ruiz, and they're both shot. I think he fights Kabayel after the Parker/Wardley winner.

We will wait and see but I don't hold out much hope, especially as I see Kabayel as stylistic kryptonite to Usyk. Usyk isn't silly he knows his boxing better than anyone and there's a reason he doesn't mention Kabayel like ever.
