Those were good fighters for sure (Maidana and Porter) but I will say at the time Madiana wasn't seen as much of a risk to them, he was a heavy favourite (I won a fortune) bu the perception was it was an easy win vs a favourable style and big name and it totally backfired.

Even Porter he was a big favourite to beat.

Yeah Maidana improved a lot under Garcia, got him using his jab and setting his shots up rather than just walking in.
