Are people really hating on Dave Allen lol

    Why?

He's never claimed to be a world beater, he's a down to earth entertaining journeyman/gatekeeper.

He's fought Luis Ortiz, Whyte, Makmudov and others all of whom he shouldn't have been in the ring with and he usually gives a good account.

A couple of years ago Makmudov was supposedly the Boogeyman of the division who Fury ducked to face Chisora instead.

Dave gave it his all, he made the fight interesting especially in the 9th when he had Makmudov doing the zombie walk.

At the end of the day Dave is what he is, what were you thinking he'd win and go on to compete for world titles?

Do me a favor, he's an entertaining mid level heavyweight, not every boxer is ****ing Usyk, if you don't want to watch boxing below world level simply don't watch it then we won't have to hear you complain about it.

I'm not a fan of his goofy, "I don't take this seriously" fat oaf shtick he's had going on for the last 10 or so years.

Getting himself big fight after big fight based on nothing he's done in the ring, only I guess putting a sock in his boxers at a weigh in?

I don't mind the fact he's not very good, that's fine. But when you get ample opportunity, over and over again, undeservedly, then willingly just out and out states he doesn't really care or try. I just find that kind of thing annoying.

On top of that, his whole shtick just doesn't seem genuine to me and seems forced and again annoying. I find that very unlikeable, but plenty of people find him likeable for whatever reason so to each it's own.

That's just my view on it. Not a fan.

      It was an entertaining fight.

I don' t expect Makhmudov to go far from here. Anybody top 20 beats Mac IMO.

You could be the nicest person in the world (not saying Allen is), there will always be someone who will hate on you though. That's just the way people are unfortunately.

Dave Allen is just a lazy fat **** who has hit the jackpot filling the space Chisora and Whyte have left. Difference is unlike those two he has no real personality. He acts the larrikin but comes across as a sad cvnt. Fat, lazy and half-hearted is how he'll be remembered. Got into the best shape of his life. If thats the best shape of his life then i expect health problems for him down the track. Not even the chance of 5 million bucks to fight AJ could shrink that gut.

I was thinking the same thing.

He's always saying "he's now in shape" but I've never seen him not be a fat slob

When he fought Price, they brought Price in for Dave to get a win over a big name that's well passed it, then Price went and bashed him in Then after the fight he's just acting like a goof. Sums him up really.

I've honestly never seen such a talentless, waste of time fighter get so many opportunities for no reason.

He's annoying because when he puts his punches together you can see he can do some real damage but hes just lazy and smothers his own work

The combos he occasionally put together was enough to overcome fisher but unless he puts in some major cardio and drops the poor Arther Abraham impression he wont beat someone as low as maks level

Its a shame because with more head movement and a variations of a jab to head and body with workrate you can tell he could go quite far

I’ve met Dave in person and he’s a nice fella, but the fact of the matter is he simply doesn’t deserve the opportunities he’s getting and on top of that he doesn’t make the most of them. That’s why people get frustrated with him.

He’s clearly not talented enough but the most frustrating thing is he doesn’t work hard enough. I think that’s where the criticism stems from and it’s justified to be honest.
