That depression/ mental health is no joke. Getting hit in the head also cant be good either on top of that.

A stoppage defeat would trigger depression for the first time, something he battled for the rest of his life.
I am not sure this is entirely correct. In his very last interview, with Darren Barker, he hinted that he thought his mental health problems began much earlier. It would be surprising if they didn't given he was drinking to the level of substance abuse during his career.

It's utterly appalling that Hatton is gone, as a society we're nowhere near even scratching the surface of the problem. RIP Hitman.

Farewell, Hitman. Few fighters will ever bring me as much joy in watching boxing/getting hyped for it.

I was not the biggest Hatton fan but witnessing the energy and euphoria and incredible atmosphere of the Hatton-Floyd weigh in was the most impressive thing I ever was privileged to see in boxing. Can't ever recall any sports figure receiving that kind of love, respect, adoration, support ever before. It's the coolest thing I ever saw in any sport period. Even Hopkins Oscar JMM Mosley were in awe of it and were wondering how they could never inspire such emotions like Ricky Hatton.
