Credit to Dubois for getting straight back on the horse to fight a top ten rival. Far too many fighters are being carefully managed to duck any decent competition. Itauma's people turned down Sanchez, showing they want to secure a world title fight for him, and avoid putting Itauma in with anyone respectable. In the long term that's going to backfire as he'll get splattered the moment he's finally put in with a decent opponent. Smashing up elderly punching bags like Whyte, Balogun, Wach etc. isn't preparing you for the top tier of the division.
In contrast, Dubois is showing courage after that humiliating Usyk defeat. Full credit to him. I'm looking forward to this as it's 50-50 in my eyes.
There won't be a third Usyk fight. There'll be another vacant belt.
People will complain about Dubois, but you've got to give him credit. He goes and takes the fights when others won't. I can't imagine there is much money in this for him but he's prepared to gamble for a title.
By the time this fight happens and the next Usyk fight happens, one or more of these belts will end up being vacant. So he will end up fighting Sanchez for the IBF.
Dubois is 1-1 with Usyk, but his win was likely a 1 in 100 kind of win, given how dominant Usyk was in avenging his loss. Sanchez does not have the firepower to hold of DDD. This will lead to DDD vs Wardley after Wardley beats Parker. Wardley will also beat DDD before losing to Hughie Fury after Hughie surprises people in beating Moses Itauma by SD. How quickly we forget his absolutely shameful ducking of Joseph Parker.
At least Kabayel has an interim title having knocked out Sanchez and Zhang. That only means something if he gets a full title on the WBC side. Kabayel may be the best of all these guys, short of Usyk especially with those body punches. Not sure when he gets a shot with Usyk at the top.
