Again, this goes back to Turki and all the promoters not understanding what the target audience wants: Amazing, fun and fan friendly fights.

This may be seen as b e o t c h ing but it's the truth, boxing is simply boring right now.
Youre not b!tching at all. The crawf/ginger fight was more of a hardcover boxing fans fight. Both of their personalities are absent, albeit moreso for Crawf. I bet if Ginger found his balls and fought Benavidez it would've done better....just my opinion. I do believe Turki could and should have better matchmaker. But I think that for most promoters. Hes still newish to the Boxing scene, so hope he does improve in that aspect.

Usually everyone has a price. Balls on the other hand, obviously not

"His Excellency"! What's so excellent about Al al-Sheik? Being born into a family who just happens to own land with an abundance of fossil fuel in its depths? That's not excellence, it's just dumb luck.

So far, other than make a few marquee fights, the Saudis havent done anything that will significantly change boxing. Those fights will be forgotten rather soon. The BIG test is what happens with the Turki-Dana White partnership, and whether or not they find a way to bring back something like the Friday Night Fights, or Shobox. Without a feeder system that develops talent, there wont be many big fights left in the future.........

The reality is? The general public don't know what a top level fight is 'and they are not really aware of boxing rankings'.

But they are perceptive and sensitive to 'story lines, themes and narrative driven fights. That is ultimately, both for hardcore boxing fans and casual sports fans what creates a big fight'.

Terrence Crawford vs Canelo Alvarez was a big fight 'this match up, most likely would have been very difficult to make a few years ago. But due to certain investments and influences it was made in 2025'.

Terrence Crawford vs Canelo Alvarez may have been a big fight 'but it had nowhere near the influence, and impact of fights such as Wladimir Kiltchko vs Anthony Joshua. Or even Deontay Wilder vs Tyson Fury I, II & III'.

Note: So I disagree with the notion that boxing is only where it is at today 'because of certain promoters or enterprises and their backing. People have already moved on from Crawford vs Alvarez, in my opinion it was not an all-time great fight, and the atmosphere around the event seemed like a special edition fight. A extra scene on a DVD'.

They tried their best to promote it as a fight on the level of Oscar De La Hoya vs Floyd Mayweather Junior or Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather Junior 'but I feel like those fights were more authentic, and organically made. They were more historically significance fights than Terrence Crawford vs Canelo Alvarez, and the shockwaves of their impact had a effect on the game for many years'.

To conclude: Boxing is fine, and in reality? Has not really altered much these past few years 'big fights can happen, and appear without massive backing. Because as I have stated before? It is narrative and themes which intrigue both hardcore boxing fans and casual sports fans'.

All the latest investment into the sport, and push for big fights is great 'but I just don't think it is essential for boxing to create big fights all of the time. This has been proven before in the past, sometimes fights just organically happen. The greatest boxing events of the past decade have all been unexpected events, in terms of what people believed their potential impact would be before they were made'.

To highlight just a few fights: Wladimir Kiltschko vs Anthony Joshua 'is the greatest heavyweight title fight of the past 25 years. No single heavyweight title fight has come close. And Deontay Wilder vs Tyson Fury I, II, & III is the greatest boxing rivalry in both the heavyweight divisions and all boxing divisions since Evander Holyfield vs Rid**** Bowe I, II & III. Erik Morales vs Antonio Barrera I, II & III, Auturo Gatti vs Micky Ward I, II, & III' etc.
