Carl Froch has hit back at Joe Calzaghe, claiming he's jealous of his success.
Wbc super-middleweight champ Froch is annoyed by Calzaghe's claims that he has no chance against WBA king Mikkel Kessler in his next fight in the Super Six Series.
And he vowed to emulate the Welshman by beating Kessler when he puts his unbeaten record on the line against the giant Dane in the new year.
"Joe Calzaghe had quite a difficult night's work with Mikkel Kessler and Mikkel Kessler is a great fighter," said Froch, who has a 26-0 record after a split decision against Andre Birrell at the weekend.
"For him to say Kessler would be too much for me to handle is just his opinion. I will prove myself against Mikkel Kessler and I know I have too much for him.
"Joe's not going to get behind me because, let's not forget, he vacated the title I have now rather than meet me. He's probably not going to have a kind word to say about me and there's probably a bit of envy there.
"He's finished with his career and he's just been booted out of Strictly Come Dancing for being as stiff as a poker."

Froch, 32, was frustrated by Dirrell's negativity and claims Kessler, who begins his Super Six campaign against Andre Ward in California next month, is better suited to his style.
"When we beat Kessler we'll get the accolades," he added. "He's next and that's the one to look forward to.
"Kessler boxes a bit and is a good mover, but he'll stand there and fight rather than hold and moan. If I'm struggling to box early on then I'll put it on him and stand and have a trade-off, but we'll see.
"I do think Kessler will win a close decision against Ward. I'd like him to win and when we meet it will be for the undisputed title, which is what I've craved since turning professional."
SUPER SIX SYSTEM..
There are six boxers involved - Carl Froch, Andre Dirrell, Arthur Abraham, Jermain Taylor, Mikkel Kessler and Andre Ward.
Each of them will fight three round-robin bouts and get one point for a draw, two for a win and three if they stop an opponent.
After three bouts each, the bottom two are eliminated and the other four will fight semifinals and a final.
