Boxing stars can't be manufactured like pop or rock stars. Boxing stardom is only earned by beating the best, not handpicked set ups and divers. Haymon's overrated stable was mediocre at best and needed to be protected from the best. The Floyd blueprint failed. Floyd got lucky because he came around at the right time when there were no other black stars to sell.
Al Haymon is finished

I think he proved that you can do it. Wilder was the crowning example.Boxing stars can't be manufactured like pop or rock stars. The fight (first time) against Ortiz was so clearly manufactured. Luis was built up for only one purpose and that was to be fed to Wilder.
Unfortunately those kind of plans only really build one fighter at a time. Constant in house fights cannibalize your roster.

Also, when a good fighter is only put into phony fights, he stagnates or regresses. The fighter knows he is rigged and just enjoys the ride. True great fighters like Bud and Hopkins became so great because they were always constantly thrown into real fights against awkward tough opponents and they had to figure out how to win. They became complete fighters with TOTAL confidence in their abilities and Boxing IQ. Fake fighters like Wilder Broner Tank stagnated and regressed. Tank knows he has no chance against a real fighter. I am certain Haymon paid Loma to decline that bluff fake offer to face Tank. As a PR stunt to increase Tank's value.

Yes PBC Haymon are done. And there is nothing that can save it. Al Haymon's idea of manufacturing fake champions with set ups and phony records has completely failed and burned through hundreds of millions of investment. And fortunately, hopefully... by Haymon's example of colossal failure, the blueprint will not be used again.Comment

Race has nothing to do with Al Haymon's disastrous failure in boxing. Or are you saying it does?
Haymon was a con artist who scammed the sport and fans with bogus fights that were not even worth his time to attend and enjoy. The fact that Haymon ignored and did not attend most of his own events clearly states they were phony fights with scripted results. The best thing about boxing is to attend a live super fight, there's nothing better in sports. Haymon blowing off his own events was probably the most stoopitt catastrophic error he made. Stoopitt beyond comprehension. But I guess his shows were so awfully bad even he didn't want to go near them.Last edited by Bennyleonard99; 10-06-2025, 02:28 PM.Comment
