    The IBF's desperate heavyweight rankings

We're often told the IBF is more admirable than the other sanctioning bodies because they stick to their 'rules'. Even though their 'rules' often involve pushing unworthy contenders onto the true #1 of the division.

Their 'rules' apparently allowed Frank Sanchez to become rated #4 despite having one win since losing to Kabayel 1.5 years ago against a journeyman with a losing record. Sanchez is not in the TBRB top ten.

The IBF's 'rules' mean they are desperately searching for an opponent for Sanchez for a 'final' eliminator so, in theory, the winner can be pushed onto Usyk.

If they were working for the good of the sport, as they claim, they would simply exit this heavyweight period and allow the division to organise itself. But of course they're actually a private business with their business model predicated on the receipt of sanctioning fees.

Who's looking forward to a Pulev - Sanchez WBA/IBF unification after Usyk retires?

The genuinely think the IBF are the worst. They seemingly lack any form of common sense.

Still not as bad as the WBA. They have 29 "world champions" in 18 weight classes including the worthless bridgerweight.

Look at Rolly Romero. He's a two division WBA "world champion" without a single good win on his resume.

The IBF have the worst rankings for sure. I also think they cause the most disruption with their BS mandatories and then subsequently stripping champions like Usyk, Canelo etc for night fighting whichever scrub won their “final eliminator”.

All the extra WBA belts are pathetic but at least they don’t really get in the way. You can choose to ignore them- not that we should have to but at least they never stripped Usyk because he didn’t fight Pulev for example. They’re more laughable but less frustrating IMO.

The secondary and tertiary belts don't matter until they do, like when Romero fights Garcia for a vacant secondary belt in both of their first fights at 147 and then Boots vacates and suddenly Rolly is the WBA "champion" of the world.

You laugh about Usyk not getting stripped for not fighting Pulev, but the reality is at some point Usyk will likely retire and either Pulev inherits the belt or somebody else inherits it for having beaten a 44 year old Pulev. It's sickening.

You know it's bad when the joke-ass WBC is less embarrassing. Somehow Arum and Warren's lapdogs at the WBO have come out of this looking like the least corrupt and most sane among the bunch.

I guess you prefer the WBA which has 153 titles, or the WBC who lets people like Charlo sit on the title for 3 years. Yes, sometimes the IBF gets stuck with some bad choices, but its certainly preferable to just waiting around to see who gives Mendoza or Suiliaman the thickest envelope.......

And I'm no fan of Sanchez, bt its not his fault that the division is horrible at the moment.............

No, I want them all gone.

How is it horrible? The TBRB top ten looks good to me. We just need them fighting each other rather than having to waste time with undeserving mandatories from parasitic sanctioning bodies.

Bumping this in light of CubanGuyNYC's news about Sanchez - Dubois apparently being on for a 'final' eliminator. Utterly farcical.

Whats farcial about it? Kayabel is WBC Interim, so he wont take it, Parker is WBO Interim, so he wont take it either. Ajagbe was ranked higher than Sanchez, but likely passed. Joshua is not ranked because he's been inactive more than 12 months, and Fury isnt ranked because he's coming off back to back losses and will probably only be willing to fight Usyk or Joshua anyways.

So whats the outrage? Is your problem with Sanchez, or Dubois? And what matchup (that could actually be MADE) would you prefer??

One fight ago Dubois was the IBF champion so it's not exactly shocking he's ranked highly by the IBF, you don't lose a unification and get blasted out of the top 20, there's no evidence anyone other than Usyk has an easy time with Dubois.
