I don’t wanna see him come back as a pro because I just don’t think he has that anymore. I mean he looked pretty much done at 31 years old when he fought Truax and then against eubank he looked poor aswell and in that fight last night again he just looked like a guy who’s just over the hill. I think he should leave it alone tbh and just go back and enjoy retirement but I’m sure one of them misfit events will lure him back for another one because money talks I guess
I thought pro boxers would kill it in bare knuckle with their elite punching skills, but they're average at best? How can this be?
Non-washed boxers have absolutely dominated BKFC.
Austin Trout won all of his fights easily and Dat Nguyen dominated every fight he was in even though they robbed him blind against Luis Palomino. And Dat was a featherweight in boxing who completed dominated the 135 division in BKFC and then moved all the way up to 155 to whoop Palomino, but he was in a contract disputed with the promotion so they robbed him of his win.
The key is that most boxers that aren't washed can still make considerably more money in boxing than BKFC, so they stay in boxing. All the fighters that are in BKFC are there because they can no longer make a living in boxing (and/or MMA and/or kickboxing).
Yeah he looked like he didn't want to be in there soon after the fight started. Matt Floyd should've been DQ'd but DeGale shouldn't have let him bully him and should have knocked him out considering his skill level. Austin Trout just gives masterclasses and looks unbelievable still. Degale not so much last night so no surprise by his announcement. I love BKFC but it was a horrendous fight and not a good look for the sport, especially for a main event.
James took some brutal punishment in his career. It is madness for him to try to come back. He achieved less than he probably should, given his ability, mainly because he stayed loyal to McDonnell who is a wretched coach and, brutally, a moron. It is too late now to try and put things right
