I see Diego and David at least once a quarter in the flesh

    Stereotypical friendly Mexicans

David cares about fans and is a nice guy. I didn’t expect him to be since he’s easily angered and beefs with damn near every opponent

First sentence out of David mouth when I spoke to him for the first time

“Did you like it [Gvozdyk fight]?”

the response of a man who clearly cares about the boxing fan experience

Diego the type of morning runner who will go the extra mile and smile as you run past him

my overall experience with boxers has been good whether they be elite pros or amateurs

      disciplined and focused hardworking people

        Boxer recognizing hack

Look for fighting age males running alone in the morning usually before 9 AM

Often Mexican or Black usually Mexican

dressed warmer than people who are running just for health and exercise

You can just feel it if you’ve done some training before yourself

their running tends to be slower

Have met quite a few former and current fighters. Majority are cool and willing to take pics.

Was in Tahoe a few years ago and Ginger was playing at Edgewood. I screamed "no tienes miedo, pelea con Benavidez"

HIs people didnt like it and told me to go to hell lol

Chickens.hit got his comeuppance by getting embarassed by Bud

Nice to confirm David Benavidez is a good guy, a true champion of the people. Sensed that he is by his demeanor in interviews on TV, class act. Margarito was too actually despite the smear campaigns to ruin his image. Beefs with opponents - business is business, it's not personal. )

I've met three boxers and one trainer.

Ricardo Lopez (I was intoxicated at the time but my fuzzy memories are pleasant), Razor Ruddock (nice guy), Thomas Hearns (also nice, but kind of aloof conversationally), and I met trainer Richie Giachetti twice as he was a somewhat close friend/acquaintance of an extended family member. Giachetti looked exactly how he lived and if I were to spend a day with him in full, I'd probably be looking for an exit by the final hour, but he was a surprisingly sweet man on the surface and SO. FRICKIN. FUNNY.

I met Butterbean 20 years ago. He's obviously nowhere near as popular or famous as many of the boxers previously mentioned, but he's the only one that I've ever met. It was a pleasant experience. Great dude.
