Fighters and great champion's pre 1980, were not weight draining themselves extensively the way Terrence Crawford was during his entire career to avoid fighting at his more natural fighting weight. So in that regards? I don't really think Crawford is the epitome of a Champion, all-time great fighters such as Sugar Ray Robinson and Henry Armstrong, did not weight drain themselves to be the big man on fight night'.

Floyd Mayweather Junior on how he approached the sport, in terms of his training and preparation 'more closely resembled all of those old school great fighters. Floyd Mayweather never weight drained himself extensively, and always stayed close to his fighting weight all year round'.

Note: Mayweather along with fighters such as Bernard Hopkins, and Carl Froch 'were some of the last true old school fighters in terms of their conduct in the sport from the lower weight divisions. They predominately relied on old school training methodologies to prepare for their fights and they did not incorporate the modern day toxic practices such as weight draining tactics to prepare for fights'.

Terrence Crawford for sure? In this modern era of boxing can be considered the epitome of a champion. But only under the rules and regulations of boxing post 1980 i.e. the use of the day before weigh in rule, has distorted the perception of boxing viewers. Being a multi weight world Champion in this modern era, in my opinion does not really have anywhere near the level of significance as it did in boxing pre-1980'.

Terrence Crawford only really just now in 2025, has decided to fight at his more natural fighting weight 'it is common knowledge that, in between fights Crawford walks around at a fairly solid 180 + pounds. This means that for the majority of his career, he has been competing against fighters nowhere near his natural fighting weight, and the reason he moved up through the weight divisions was because? Naturally overtime weight draining tactics, have a negative accumulative effect on a fighters overall conditioning and well being. This is what ultimately forces them into moving up through the weight divisions'.

So overall Terrence Crawford is a great champion 'but he is what I like to refer to as? A modem day great champion. Those types of fighters are really only going to be great in this modern era, and there no real hardcore evidence that they could compete with past all-time great fighters on a level playing field'.

To conclude: If Terrence Crawford was to travel back in time to all the boxing era's pre 1980 'well he can no longer used weight draining tactics, to avoid fighting at his more natural fighting weight. Which would most likely be a 160 pound, middle weight fighter'.

I am fairly certain that Terrence Crawford would be a solid fighter, because he clearly has skills and boxing ability 'but he has shown no real evidence that he would be able to travel back in time, and maintain his current form and compete in all boxing eras'.

Whereas in comparison? Floyd Mayweather Junior throughout his entire career 'showed himself to be an old school fighter. He is more the epitome of a classic boxing champion than Terrence Crawford, and that is just an objective fact. In my opinion, Floyd Mayweather Junior would be able to travel back in time to all the great boxing eras and still be a World to elite level fighter at the very least. It would be very difficult, but there is just more evidence in his career that he had that level of ability more than Terrence Crawford' etc.
