Mcgwire is the best to compare with Manny, Baseball was in a terrible state in 98 as in some ways boxing is today and Mark was beloved not only here in St.Louis but by the media and baseball fans alike, all that mattered was him hitting homeruns and making money for the sport and the citys he played and visited. That being said almost any reasonable sane human being knew he was dirty as ****, he only admitted andro as a way to take some heat off being that it was legal for anyone to buy at that time. Manny in many ways gets catered to like Mark and because he's uneducated and from a third world country he gets a pass somehow even despite the people he works with, promoters that have fixed fights a trainer who has been involved with giving fighters steroids while training with him (Roach) and a team of Balco employees directly working for him, couple that with his refusal to test and flimsy excuses and he is the most suspect athlete on planet earth. I have a feeling he will never test and it will cost him just as it did Mark and everyone else, he will either show and prove or let the actions of himselfand those he chooses to surround himself cloud his legacy.
