Crawford and Usyk have proved we don't need all these weight divisions.

If you are good enough a 20lb weight difference is nothing

Get rid of half of boxings weight classes, cruiserweight is just for scared heavyweights to hide in, 168lb can make 160 or 175 and we don't need most of the midget classes.

6 weight classes in boxing should be enough

There are only 3 four division lineal kings in the history of boxing. Floyd, Manny, and Crawford. That's it.

That three ridiculously exceptional fighters accomplished something and nobody else did just shows that we do, in fact, need all these weight classes.

World title holders at 112 move up three pounds to 115 and get obliterated all the time. Weight classes exist for a reason and exceptional fighters doing exceptional things doesn't change that.

What we don't need are half a dozen "world" title belts in each weight class. That's where you trim the fat, not in the divisions themselves.

Those other 20 000 are bums then

How will they ever know if they are good enough if they hide behind weight classes.

Relax, Crawford came into the ring about the same size as Canelo. It was a calculated risk against a past prime fighter with no huge physical advantages. I doubt he would make that move to fight a guy at his peak with a height/reach advantage, with a comparable skill level.

TBud did an original great 8 weights style jump going from 154 to 168

it similar to 160 to 175 or 147 to 160

cruiser is big white boys who aren't buff enough for heavyweight

Buff Guy Joshua focuses more on having a sexy body to be GigaTyrone than his boxing skills
