Ricky Hatton Hints at Death in Final Interview? "You retire but you don't die. You set yourself goals."

In one of Hatton's final interviews recorded about a month ago, over a week after the Pacquiao vs Barrios fight, when asked about his planned comeback Hatton said:

"At the end of the day, it's a fight that's winnable for me. That's what I do, I fight. You know, you retire but you don't die. You set yourself goals, targets. So I go back into training next week."

I think anyone can put up a front without anyone having a clue. Your mind is easy to get lost in. Regardless of what you say on the outside, you have thoughts internally that NOBODY has any idea about. I still don't know what the result was with Ricky's death, but we all know he fought some internal demons. I'm not sure if he offed himself leaving a lot of folks hurting from that, but we all know, Ricky's at peace now because he clearly has been living in internal pain for quite some time.

True but he seemed pretty SOBER in that interview to me. However, it's still mad to think that a guy like that would end up taking his life a month later.

Agreed but he put on an EXTREMELY convincing front. Most people I know who are depressed can barely leave the house or string a sentence together whereas Ricky seemed very coherent in that interview.

I was reading up about his life and it seems that his downfall began with the Mayweather & Pacquiao losses which led to falling out with his trainer, parents and long-term partner at the time. He then fell into a spiral of drink & drugs but seemed to have recovered and found love again. He even fathered another child and became an ambassador for mental health. People thought he was over the worst and then this happens.

he has a bit of the uncle festers look about him there, i dont think he looks that healthy, his lifestyle might have just taken its toll in the end and the mind followed
