During such a great boxing weekend, we had to cap off with such awful news. RIP champ.

I can only guess that his comeback was because he was broke and he was ill-advised or couldn't get it off the ground or no money in it and felt he had nowhere to turn and alcohol played a role. Guess we'll see what the reports show, perhaps toxicology will tell part of the story.

His impact on boxing can't be denied! Once the world heard the fans singing and felt the crowd wherever they where..UK boxing was me perceived the same way and now it's one of the biggest and most lucrative markets.

Even if you weren't a fan, you had goose bumps when the crowed showed their love.

Nah he was loaded and not a lavish spender - i dont think money issues had anything to do with it.

He had depression even during his career, and certainly after it, based on his documentary in 2023 it was a sense of failure, lots of turbulence in his personal/family life, and I wouldnt rule out CTE

He definitely wasn't broke. Far from it. Definitely not a factor.

His problem was he could never really handle retirement. As with a lot of athletes, they find it hard to see a purpose once they're no longer the champ and selling our values. I think he even had problems with his mental health during his prime too but probably had enough motivation to keep him going.
