After the Netflix broadcast ended past 2 a.m. ET, here are one bleary-eyed observer?s thoughts about the Saul "Canelo" Alvarez-Terence Crawford card.

Misleading title - we got just 2 observations about the Crawford-Canelo FIGHT itself - rather than the card.
Here's some more:-
Canelo's Prime
was probably when he beat Saunders and Plant or even earlier during GGG 2. - as such, we had a past peak prime Crawford beat a past best Canelo. Should Canelo have done more cardio or was he at 100% of his potential for this fight?
Rising Tide
A rising tide lifts all boats. How much does this win improve the reputation of Madrimov and even Spence, Porter and Postol? Now we know they were in there with an ATG.
A New Era at 168
I'm not sure what Bud will do now but I don't think he is going to sit and hog all the belts at 168 as Canelo has done for 4 years since he beat Plant. That means excellent fighters such as Mbili, Martinez, Igelsias and Pacheco will get their rightful opportunity to fight for a title.
Future for Crawford
I'd like him to retire now unbeaten and healthy - but heck - even if he isn't in his absolute prime his level of fitness is off the chart - if he can get a huge paycheck off Turki for some preposterous matchup he can make the decision whether it's legacy or bank account.
Future for Canelo
He should retire a very rich man. Maybe fight an exhibition with Mayweather or Jake Paul.
As the article states, re-signing with Top Rank, while the best at WW were at PBC, was a crucial mistake. However never fighting Pacquiao while being at Top Rank was worse! That would’ve catapulted Bud’s career! To add injury to insult, Bob Arum publicly admitted to killing the fight TO PROTECT MANNY! That’s crazy!!!
One more observation. There is no version of Canelo that ever beats Crawford. Bud is just superior in every department. He is a better boxer, he is faster, he is stronger and he has a better stamina.
I picked Canelo but Im glad Bud won. I had Crawford as an all time great before this fight and even if I failed him this time, I was right before. Canelo is rich he wont suffer. I think May's 50-0 boast is safe, Bud Hasnt been as active. Between the two, I like Bud, but Floyd beat more names in his 50. Bud has time because of his skill, but not much.
Won't be popular - but my observation as a longtime TC fan is that he ran more than he ever did in any other fight in his career. It was very annoying.
There is 0 chance Canelo would ever be awarded rounds fighting in that manner.
