Canelo did cherry pick Bud. Yes, Bud is elite. But Canelo picked him knowing that he was a much smaller man moving up, just like he did with Jermell "aluminum foil" Charlo. In his calculation, there was no way Bud could beat him because he was way too small. He did this, rather than fight someone who was challenging him to fight for over a decade, in David Benavidez. This was indeed another cherry pick gone wrong. It was similar to Amir Khan agreeing to face Kell Brook, only after Kell had both sides of his face broken and had plates and screws inserted, and been knocked out by Bud. Cherry picking in boxing terms, means picking a fighter based on some extreme advantage you believe you have over them.

He was only 58, and as stated, reprimed for the fight. Every athlete can reprime once in their career, even at 58, and Tyson was at his absolute best for that fight. Nash out - His Majesty

Wholeheartedly and respectfully disagree, seems like you going on a fighter perception, you as fan cant tell what is really going on a fighters mind, and dont get me wrong, I know what a calculated risk is, but that doesn't mean the risk to lose completely goes away as we saw last night there was other factors that play in a high level boxing match even so when two fighters involved are indeed high stakes elite fighters , and Benavidez hasn't been calling out canelo for a decade stop the cap lol,

In sorry brother but calling both Bivol and TC cherrypicks gone wrong is absurd to say the least, they were never cherries to begin with, any respectable boxing fans that actually observes boxing and know its all about styles knows this.

at least now we can see why Canelo was ducking Benavidez

Honestly, I know what you mean. It was the 11th when he was throwing his head around after taking punches right? He was done and his interview spoke volumes.

Everystein, Singleberg and Timeowitz. Adios to their rep, Bob Arum.
Now if only the nasally, whiny New Yawwkuh Kellerman to retire......
Yes! I was cringing hard at his overthought, rambling questions. He was pulling strange faces too like he has early onset Parkinson's.

"Muh Canelo v Benny" has become the battle cry for depressed males on this forum for years now. Move on, you'll feel happier.

I just find these unhealthy fixations people have about certain subjects tedious. Yeah, I would like to have seen the fight two or three years ago but I accepted it wasn't going to happen and moved on.

It very likely would have been anticlimactic and the same depressed obsessives would have found something else to complain about. They always do.
