Ok great, let’s answer this.
Firstly, I’m not a victim in the slightest - I’m not affected personally by either sides of the conflict (counting my blessings). Neither does the suppression of this issue affect my life. I am lucky to live where I do, and where my loved ones are safe.
Secondly, whilst Boxingscene/Saudi and Boxingscene Website Censorship are two disctinct issues, they are also the same issue at the core. Censorship.
Saudi/Turki have not taken well to Boxingscene’s reporting on them, so they have been excluded from the event. This, is in essence, censorship. Boxingscene have now published an article crying suppression of free speech etc.
You can call out hypocrisy without being a victim of it.
And for what it’s worth, I agree with the article, I just believe the site owners should take that onboard themselves. I can understand wanting to block hate speech, but it seems strange to censor the name of a whole people on one side of a conflict.
