Does Turki pay you for the defense of the Kingdom ?

You can respond or don't , I don't really care. I'm not going to read it anyway.
Well said. And it's kinda scary that you even have to spell it out.

It’s more complex than that. Both boxingscene and ring, once legitimate media outlets, have been bought by promoters (ring by Oscar, then turki; boxingscene by probox) so neither is objective and naturally, as thinly veiled tools of rival promoters, might not be welcome at each others events. At the end of the day they’re just making their acquired media irrelevant, it’s not so alarming.

My response to you was not based on rage or selective outrage. The fact that it triggered something unhinged about you means we can’t have a debate so you can go suck on a warthog’s anus. What a tool.

I remember when the Saudi money first started flowing into boxing, those of us concerned because of the countries history were either called bigots or short sighted morons that could not see the big picture. Well first off: Most of my worries so far have not really come to pass. The influx of the money has helped set up some of the best fights and forced fighters to agree to them. Overall, it has been a net positive and I was not expecting that.

But there are still signs. Denying a press pass to a rival boxing entity or sports site is simply not a good look. But if it is the worst thing, than ok. But it is worth calling out and being sure we all see it. Boxing is barely hanging on as a major sport. It needs it fans and press all rowing in the same direction.

I wouldn't like to be ruled by the Saudis, but I'm grateful to them for putting together some great fights these last 3 years.

I'd also comment that if yo uask the average boxing fan what he's more concerned about 1/ Parker being nominated for boxer of the year 2/ the saudi anthem being played before the British one 3/ Boxing Scene writers losing access to R.Season events or 4/ regular atrocious scoring of fights
then ... I'm pretty sure most will say number 4/

If you would write with the same energy about atrocious scoring to determine whether it's corruption, incompetence or an unspoken understanding who has to win - then I for one could more fully sympathise with your current predicament.

Fantastic read . Not surprised though. No different to Alvarez kicking Andrade out of a press conference or Hitler fooling Europe or Trump fooling Americans again. Keep doing your thing Boxing Scene. I’ll always go to you Guy’s for fact’s.

The irony of boxingscene talking about 'suppression of dissent' when they are censoring thread after thread in the lounge and have permabanned long time posters
