The crazy part is with all the size talk and Bud coming up, he's got the height and reach advantage. I think the reach advantage might play a big part in Bud's strategy to pick apart Canelo, though if he's lost speed, this may not work as expected.Comment

I think the very fact that Terrence Crawford has believed that he needed to gain mass 'to challenge Canelo Alvarez. Should tell everyone, that skill for skill technically as a fighter Terrence Crawford is overrated'.
Terrence Crawford in the past, has stated that he walks around at 180 + pounds 'so why all of the sudden, is he panicking and gaining mass to fight Alvarez? This approach to the fight, does not endorse the media narrative that Crawford skill for skill is the miles better boxer. To the level that many people within the boxing community are trying to claim'.
Note: Floyd Mayweather Junior throughout his entire career, at times in his biggest fights 'was being out weighed considerably by his opponents. Mayweather always emphasized that 'his skills and technical ability were the factors that would win him the fights'.
Floyd Mayweather Junior never joined in with modern day boxers 'who weighted drained themselves extensively, Mayweather during is fighting career was one of the few truly old school fighters in how he approached the game and prepared for his fights. Bernard Hopkins and Carl Froch were other fighters who also never weighted drained themselves extensively in their careers, and always stayed fairly close to their fighting weight'.
One of the narratives in this matchup between Terrence Crawford and Canelo Alvarez 'is that skill for skill Crawford is a miles better fighter than Alvarez. The only thing making this match up compelling and competitive, is that Canelo Alvarez is naturally the heavier fighter'.
I disagree with this narrative, Canelo Alvarez if you check his resume 'has fought and beaten better Welter Weight fighters than Terrence Crawford. Shane Mosley, Miguel Cotto, Erislandy Lara, those wins are better than all of Crawford's wins at 147 pounds. I would back for sure, the version of Miguel Cotto who fought Alvarez to really push Crawford in a close fight and potentially win'.
Win or lose Canelo Alvarez has more experience at a higher level than Terrence Crawford 'he has fought Dmitry Bivol, who is the current undisputed 175 pounds Champion. Yes Alvarez was beaten, but the fight was a distance fight. At no point in the fight was Canelo Alvarez ever in the verge of being stopped'.
Terrence Crawford skill for skill or in terms of athleticism is not the best fighter Canelo Alvarez has fought 'both Floyd Mayweather Junior, and Gennady Golovkin have areas of their game that are superior to Crawford'.
Whereas in comparison, Canelo Alvarez is arguably skill for skill the best fighter Terrence Crawford has ever fought 'in terms of pure technically ability, brute strength and power. Even now at this stage of his career, who is a more formidable fighter on Crawford's resume? Amir Khan had more athleticism and speed, Errol Spence Junior and Kell Brook skill for skill are pretty much the best fighters Crawford has beaten. And both of those fighters were miles outside of their peak, for different reasons'.
Terrence Crawford has still beaten many solid fighters, his resume is really impressive 'but he does not have any truly great wins on his resume'.
To conclude: I give Terrence Crawford a chance in this fight still, because 'there will be a lot of unknowns about his conditioning at 168 pounds. Crawford will most likely be the strongest he has ever been in terms of brute strength, because he would not have had to weight drain himself to make a lower weight limit. Maybe this factor in the fight, alters the dynamic between the fighters or maybe Canelo Alvarez just has too much experience in competing against elite level fighters win or lose'.
This is a fight in my opinion that Canelo Alvarez should win, I have never regarded it as a 50/50 fight 'the only areas where Terrence Crawford is better than Alvarez, is his endurance, movement and gears. Those are the areas where a fighter needs to excel to beat Alvarez, but? Like I have stated, Terrence Crawford is a great fighter, one of the best in this era. But is Crawford on the level of Floyd Mayweather Junior? Terrence Crawford skill for skill has never shown that level of game' etc.Last edited by PRINCEKOOL; Yesterday, 09:43 AM.Comment
