Meh. The more I think about this fight, the more I think Canelo wins. In fact, I get an increasing feeling we’re all gonna feel had — like they sold the crap out of what people will feel, in hindsight, was a mismatch. If Bud pulls this off, I’ll be super-impressed. Just don’t think it’s gonna happen.

Roy Jones, Jr is saying the same thing that I’ve been saying. Canelo may be the larger man. However, the statistics say that Bud Crawford is the bigger and harder puncher of the two fighters.
Which cancels out the size differential. When Crawford drops guys to the canvas once. He always manages to drop them there again for a second time and for a third time or until the fight is stopped.
Unlike Canelo who flash knockdowns his opponents only to have them to beat the count, get back up and finish the fight on their feet.Comment

Bud looked like crap last time out and that was at 154 v the never did nothing, look like amateur style Madrimov. That guy cracked Bud with rights like popcorn and Bud never looked like he was going to KO him. Canelo is bigger, better, hits harder and a gorilla style vs the best at 168. I would Cry for Canelo at 147, but not at 168. Bud has too much pride to win ugly, this is going to be good.Comment

Roy, one of my all time favorites, has been reading my posts.
Kidding. But I have been saying it for years, Canelo never knocks any good fighter or prime fighter out. He has some power but not show stopping power.
Crawfors has height and reach and he has been killing himself to make weight for years. He will come in strong and fresh. He will time Canelo and beat him up. Crawford is far more skilled, places his shots far better and he has an incredibly high ring IQ.
If Canelo comes in feinting like Madrimov did for the entire fight he has a shot. Madrimov was ridiculous throughout the Bud fight....it worked in that he didn't get stopped, but he clearly lost. There is chance of Canelo landing a haymaker because Bud will take some risks, but as Canelo hasn't even stopped anyone in years, that is unlikely.
I find it amazing that so many think Canelo will be dominant. Watch Crawford crack him with a hard shot. Canelo will go into retreat mode and flurry a bit here and there as his gas tank runs out. Saul will be fighting with his mouth open by the late rounds as Crawford circles him and picks him apart.
I can hear it now after the fight. "Well, we all knew Canelo was on the decline and now we can see he should have retired." Etc etc.Comment
