Sounds great but freezing Canelo out of money isn't possible. Canelo makes 10 million fighting no hopes, and all he has to do stroke a big fat protection check . The real corruption isn't the player it's the game set up by the king makers for personal profit.
The sanctioning bodies were never meant to be a profit center, they exist to set rules and protect the sport, not bleed millions of dollars off fighters for personal profit. The rigging, manipulation and corruption It's no longer in the shadows, the WBC has gone as far as to overtly promote and protect cash cows.

Nate Wilcox, founder of the superb website Bloody Elbow, aquired MMA Payout, then quietly sold it to the Endeavor Group, owners of the Ultimate Fighting Championship for a tidy profit, and they (Endeavor) immediately shut the site down, scattering it's small staff to the winds.
That, is simply smart business; which is the heart and soul of the UFC. As opposed to paying their fighters anything approaching what Boxers receive at all levels.
The UFC has been perfectly marketed and is highly successful; but it is the Brand that is being sold. The fighters are merely bit players, signed to stringent controll contracts, and they are treated as disposable employees and no more. It is a pro wrestling model.
Boxing, by wide contrast, sells the individual athletes on the strength of their own merits.
Would boxing, as a whole, derive benefit from a monopoly like the UFC, that generates some 93% of global revenue for MMA, and functions as that sport's premier promoter, regulator, manager, title issuer and contract negotiator?
It very well might. But there are other ways to better run boxing that maintain the kind of high reward goals that, to date, have ensured the best natural fighting athletes go very disproportionately to boxing.
Be careful what you wish for. And for that matter, what you claim to know.
