Good article and definitely some things to keep in mind when judging a fight. Watching as a fan and watching as a judge are two very different things mentally. Another thing to keep in mind is peer pressure , everyone knows who the promoters guy is. A judge can't be concerned with not wanting to be the turd in the punch bowl , you owe the fighters honesty and integrity. If you're the type that is susceptible to going along to get along , find a different job.
To scared or woke to say Bird could have been having a hot flush meno/perry & might have been unable to make an honest decision.
How about an official committee of maybe a dozen ex fighters or judges re score the fight & all other controversial decisions with the power to reverse the outcome.
Its one of the biggest robberies I've seen in my lifetime.
Not fights where Eddie or ol fish eye's cry because they're boxer lost a close one like Beterbiev Bivol 1, the controversial ones.
Bird should be in a hole in the nevada dessert for that one.

Those types don't get the plum assignments with the major boxing commissions
Also forgot to mention judges are very aware of the promoter who put on the show, who they want to win, and that they have influence on which judges can be picked in future.
