Comments Thread For: Moses Itauma bumped up to No. 1 heavyweight by WBA
The WBA saw Itauma's destruction of Dillian Whyte as convincing enough reason for him to displace Michael Hunter atop their rankings

Well, Itauma is now eligible for a title shot at Usyk.
It may seem wild, but the guy has got a puncher's chance, as they say. He may need a fight or two as further tests, but he's better than Dubois, would say that now.

Not exactly. WBA also have a regular and interim Pulev/Wardley. Also 1 doesn't always mean you are mandatory, you may still need to fight an eliminator or 2

Biblical Moses is ready for the lower half top 10 heavies
go through 2-3 of them and he has the experience to face Usyk
If given the chance he should take the title shot. There has been a noticeable slowing down in Usyk and Itauma being a high IQ southpaw brings different problems to the table. He could be getting Usyk at the best time and will no doubt not get a better chance to become undisputed champion from a single fight
Well I think he likely beats most of the top 10 in each divisions rankings right now, but he only has Whyte as a real name. I like him as a top 5 contender, but I sure would prefer him to get another win or two before he is a #1. He will just end the legend of Pulev. But if the WBA is silly enough to take Pulev for real, I would not fault Itauma for taking the full contact sparring match it is.
